I'm one of those that had the 2011 V8 and got a 2014 V6 to replace it.
I know they where very different and the 8 spread transmission made a big difference but in my situation and driving style I went from 3 gas tanks per month down to 2.
Saving between $80-$100 per month depending on the price of gas.

I miss the V8 a bit but have never been left wishing I had more power in any situation.

I say buy the one that makes you happy when you drive it. If you put your foot down and you giggle like a school girl ( or evil cackle if it's the v8) it's the right voice for you.

If everyone was doing 80mph under those conditions, traffic would be stopped, more than moving, due to accidents. I lived most of my life in NY, and have driven in and around Chicago. It is no better or worse than other major cities, and neither are its drivers. They need all the help they can get. The scary ones are those who don't recognize it.

Driving under those conditions, I can't see where LDW would be of any benefit. More like a hindrance and additional distraction added to the ones you're already dealing with.

Understandable concern. Technically, my '14 Cherokee didn't have Lane Departure Warning, it had Active Lane Keeping, which did not vibrate things or beep at me, it just actively kept the car in the center of the lane, whatever the lane did, which was great in those conditions. LDW probably isn't enough to fix that loss, it was just an additional shock to not even get that much, after being told that the GC had it by numerous sources, including the dealer.

Production startup - December 23, 2015 (delayed from November 30)

Long story, but I have a 2014 GC diesel overland that was a lemon. It has had over 9 weeks in the shop with issues with the def system, a large transmission leak, and a completely replaced fuel system secondary to a catastrophic hpfp failure sending metal shards through the system.

So I asked for a replacement and Jeep is taking care of it without me having to go through the lemon law process.

Now I am eagerly waiting for the 2016 so I can order the replacement.

I haven't kept up with your latest posts, but Bill are you coming back to the Jeep side of life? If so/ no, why now/ or not?

I'm disappointed to see (on the Jeep website) that 2015 Laredo trim will have Dual Zone HVAC. I'm a hater of that system ( windows cracked open= lord knows what kind of temp output you're gonna get) and would happily trade in my MY14 Limited for one.

There's nothing at Jeep.com that I can find on the 2016 JGC. Do you mean wk2jeeps.com? (an independent site maintained by very reliable insiders...)
