Milous,

Regarding the NEW: Transmission Oil Heater......wat up wit dat?

I see the SRT (CAN) gets one, Transmission Oil Heater (NHQ), which I do not believe was in 14/15, right?

I know the 845RE and 8HP70 have engine coolant based temp control units but those are only for at temp ops, not for cold ops.

I was guessing that when you posted this new feature originally it was mainly for the V6/845RE trans that has a decent volume of customer complaints that I thought were at least partially related to cold/start/warm-up ops.

Did they just put it on both trans? Two different heaters for each trans.

Also, if the new oil heater is for cold/start/warm-up ops how does it operate such that it warms up the oil "instantly" or thereabouts.

I am sure I have something crossed up so help straighten a brotha out when you get a moment....thx

I'll have to wait until the 2016 service manual is released to get specifics, which should be out in the next month or so.

Why the short model year for 2016?

Re: 2016 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

My guess is that Jeep had to delay the '16 launch due to engineering changes/challenges on the PUG V6, and needed a window to squeeze in some Anniversary edition build. This means a 6 month build for '16 MY.
Let's face it, they could delay production to Jan. 1, 2016 and call them 2017 MY.
Best guess - the '17 production will have next to zero downtime for retooling July '16.

MY13 was a short model year, too.

Re: 2016 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

It is possible that certain contracts or financing deals are for production that begins in 2015. So even if they start the line and push out a few dozen cars before Christmas break everything is OK.

The complexities of producing anything are mind boggling. We just want our dream car, perfectly built, and delivered on time with no damage. In a perfect world ...

When something new is known, it will be posted here by the insiders or others...patience, my friend. Nobody is holding "secrets".

Re: 2016 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Must be getting close now...I believe the Grand Cherokee is the only Jeep without an option of 2016 when you build and price. Dealership in town has no information or they are not willing to share any yet. Oh well...
