Re: 2016 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

When I awoke today,
suddenly, nothing happened.
But in my dreams,
I slew the dragon.

And down this beaten path,
up this cobbled lane,
I'm walking in my old footsteps,
once again.

Any minute now,
my ship is coming in.
I'll keep checking the horizon.

And you say, "be still my love,
open up your heart, let the light shine in."

Don't you understand,
I already have a plan.

I'm waiting,
for my real life to begin.

Re: 2016 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I finally gave in and did a 100mile search for what I was looking for and bought a 15 Hemi. Couldn't be happier with it. I started to wonder if this new shifter was going to be as ugly as the patent and video someone posted and TBH I have adapted very easily to the E shifter and like it alot more than I thought I would. I have yet to mistakely hit the paddle shifters so thats no issue either and I like having sport mode on the shifter as well as opposed to a button. I am in the process of mod'ing it to my tastes and will post pics soon. I look forward to seeing the light refresh of the 16 and hope I dont kick myself when I do!!

Re: 2016 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Thecarconnection.com posted a review of the 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee. They specifically mention the Start/Stop feature exclusive to the 2016.

I dont know if that means theyve actually gone hands on with the vehicle or if they are recycling their 2015 review and adding what information has leaked. Either way, you can check it out for yourselves 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee Review, Ratings, Specs, Prices, and Photos - The Car Connection

Re: 2016 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I was told today that dealers will not be able to order 2016's until December. Probably a February delivery at best. Dealers will get 16's in December but they will be pre-spec'd by the factory. Please don't take this for 100% fact, but the guy is pretty reliable.

Anyone notice that the Ad now says 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee? (When you click on it it still goes to 2015.)

They really didn't say much of anything. Unless I missed it, they mentioned the 8 speed and the paddle shifters on the wheel, but not the new shifter. It seemed like a boiler plate review with some possible new facts thrown in.

Maybe we need to march on Detroit and demand access ... if there is anything to access.

Hang in there everybody. Before you know it the payment book will show up in your mailbox.

Re: 2016 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I've never paid close attention to ordering dates and production dates etc. for other vehicles I've been interested in buying. Probably because Milous never offered the info for Chevy or Ford.

Do other companies wind up having to push off production to the point they miss the entire Fall selling season for a new model year?

It seems strange as Jeep goes from a short MY13 to a long MY14, to a longer than expected MY15 and now a very shortened MY16, unless they decide to delay the 17.

What gives?

As far as the planned production timeline, not much has changed. 18 months ago Chrysler released their 5-year plan. That plan clearly stated a Grand Cherokee refresh for model year 2016 in the 4th quarter of 2015, and production is still scheduled within that timeline.

The main reason for launching in the 4th quarter instead of the summer was they needed extra time to finish developing the new 3.6L engine.

And there's no guarantee that they'll get it right. The only thing we know is that they shortened the drivetrain warranty.

Is that a coincidence or a harbinger of things to come with the upgrade?
