Wait until the end of April or first of May when the new colors come out. Like the Light Brownstone Pearl or Luxury Brown Pearl. Go to your local Dealer and see it in light of day. Place your order and 6 to 8 weeks later . Let's say about the end of June you can pick up your new rig. And you can fill out a MY 17 order form . Does that work for you? Who is running this outfit?

2016 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

While I agree and that is generally my logic, this poses a few issues for me. If I wait for the 17, why not wait for the 18? Then wait for the bugs to be worked out of the 18 so get a 19. And I'm taking a huge road trip in June so I'd prefer to have the new one by then.

I have zero interest in either of those colors. Maybe because I'm only 23, browns do not excite me. I'll stick to Granite, Silver or white. Also I'm too impatient to order something my volume dealer of choice would have sitting on the lot. These aren't BMWs with tons of options. It's basically trim, color, engine, done.

I'm feeling lucky....my current lease is not up until December 2016. That'll put me in line for a midyear 2017. I sure hope the dark green is back.

I hope everyone had a merry Christmas.

Mid year 2017... Right before the redesign?

There is not a dramatic difference in real world mileage between the engines, car and Driver managed 1 MPG difference in their mixed driving testing between the two and there are a few folks on here that have owned both and stated the mixed driving difference was 2 MPG. Don't think there is this grand fuel savings the real world numbers just aren't there. The bigger consideration is really the up front engine cost, is the v8 worth about $3700 more to you. If no then get the v6, if yes get the v8, if you are on the fence then get the v8 or you will sit around wishing you had later. It's best to drive them both yourself everyone's opinions are going to be different.

Could not agree with statement more . 100% correct .

New redesigns scare me a bit, unless there is a nice beta tester discount.

I suppose I could be swayed if there are enough pics and write ups about the 18.

The redesign/next platform doesn't come until MY19 which should appear in mid-2018. MY17 and MY18 will likely only bring a few new features and other minor updates. MY17 was originally supposed to be the "next platform" but it was pushed out in the roadmap to allow for some other things that JFA is doing, such as the proposed Grand Wagoneer type vehicle which will be on the same platform.

Re: 2016 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Does anyone know if this Luxury Brown coming out for the 2016's jeep is the same as the Western Brown that was available on the Ram 1500. I hope it is . I saw a solid monotone Western Brown ram 1500 on a dealers lot and it looked awesome . I'm pretty sure the color is no longer available for the 2016 Ram's . It mysteriously gone as a choice . Here's hoping they moved the option to the grand Cherokees under a different name .ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1451143913.696925.jpg I think this is the luxury brown on a wrangler . Love it .

lol.... that is what I was thinking... since I would have liked to order one of those two colors... the only good reason to order a 16 in the Spring might be if they were discounted heavily over the 17 but I purchase through employee purchase (a family member works for Chrysler) so wouldn't make sense for me to bother....

BTW, come on Jeep Canada, let's add the 2016 GC to the web page already and get the build and price going..

If this color is already out there. Why are they waiting to reintroduce it in April? Make it and the Light Brownstone Pearl available now like the Tri coat around the first of the year.
Because of their (end of the year) color release date. I'll postpone any possible purchase until MY17. If I have flawed thinking here . Please get my mind right. Siri says that , "it is beyond her abilities at the moment."

Not the same. Luxury Brown (AKA Rugged Brown) is paint code "GTW", Western Brown is code "KEP".

Luxury Brown/Rugged Brown has been used on quite a number of Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep vehicles since 2009. A Google search will brink up lots of examples.
