2016 ha

Picked it up on Tuesday. Loving it. Drives great, rides wonderfully. Very nice vehicle. Got over 23 mpg driving it home over 500 miles at 80 mph. Very happy with duel economy and ride. Only issue was right headlamp, had loose connection that had to be fixed. Otherwise fit and finish seems to be good. Really happy with the ha packaging, sporty, rugged, and luxurious. Gotten many compliments.

Ordered in april and had 1500 in rebates. Picked up may 31 and rebates went up to 2500. So I was even happier. Ive ordered many retail units through various manufacturers, but have never gotten one this fast. 32 days

Why did you order? What did you get that was special on it? When I bought mine last weekend they had 4 others just like it on the lot.

Re: 2016 ha

I can't answer for OP, but I can tell you why I usually order rather than buy off the lot... you get the latest changes. An example from my 2011 WK2 that I noticed after delivery was the foam snow/rain diverter in front of the engine air intake. Earlier MY11's did not have it. Others have noted minor Uconnect changes not worthy of a software update.

Re: 2016 ha

I don't really see the point in ordering a GC unless you can't absolutely find the one you want within a couple hundred miles. If it were a BMW, then I'd definitely have to order. Too many options to just pick one off the lot. Each their own though. Glad the OP is happy and hope it serves you many wonderful miles!

Agreed on the 2011s I wanted a Mar xx or later run to get the RHR radio. But are they still changing production runs as much.

I need to check my manufacture date...but my HA is out of town till Sun!

Friend runs dealership in south texas. They dont stock 4x4s and wanted to buy from him. I know he could have dealer traded for one, but wanted one with no miles on it. Also fun to have "built for my name" on window sticker.

Re: 2016 ha

Don't you end up paying more if you bought the same thing that is on the lot as well? All I am really going to want on my 2017 HA is the HK audio system and advanced technology package.

I guess it could get tricky whenever carplay makes it into the 2017 models, then ordering may be worth it as those cars will have it, but not the ones on the lots

All HA will have technology package, and yes I highly recommend HK audio. Not only does it sound amazing, but it also adds a slightly nicer interior trim package on the door panels (atleast on 2015/2016 it does).

No you dont pay any more to order than buying one any other way. Dealer has entire hold back as it's their order and they have no interest pmts etc. tied up in it since it wasnt sitting on their lot, so if anything they can be more aggressive pricing.

Hk stereo is worth it. As has been previously posted, better sound and nicer trim around speakers. Loving my ha and getting many compliments. Youll enjoy yours!

Ordering just requires patience since you have to wait to have it built, but you get one with zero miles, no lot rot, and kinda fun to have "made for xxx" on the window sticker. But most people just find one on a lot.

There certainly are a few dealers out there that "discourage" ordering through their own pricing proclivities, but in general, ordering a vehicle shouldn't cost more than "the deal" available on an in-stock selection and you are "guaranteed" to get exactly what you want in trim level, options and color through ordering without the side effects of inventory aging, dealer trades, etc. And any dealer that plays the game I first mentioned is potentially hurting themselves in the end because they could have had an immediate sale and happy customer while still having inventory to sell to others that walk through the door ten minutes later. Our forum "group buy" doesn't penalize for ordering for sure.

We recently bought a new 2016 Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited with Eyesight for my other half and ordered it exactly how we wanted it. It was a good experience and the dealer still gave us a very nice $500 under invoice price...which on an in-demand, no available unsold inventory vehicle is clearly a nice thing. Waiting a month to get it (which was half the originally quoted time) was totally worth it. I'd do it again for future purchases, too.
