Definitely a strange change. I wonder if the 2017 75th Anniversary Edition will go back to black or stay with body color.

I agree, especially on a white one like mine.

Re: 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee 75th Anniversary Edition

Are the folks that are buying the 2016s now getting crazy good deals? I'd like to purchase something new but have been waiting for a screaming deal or a 2017.

That's how they get to such huge volume. When I buy my next one...that's most likely where it will come through.
Absolutely! I had actually been working with Craig at Koons but they didn't have what I wanted and I did not have time to order and wait for a 2017. I found (through Jeep.com's build and price feature) a 75th I was interested in at a dealer north of Baltimore. I looked at the sticker online and everywhere else but couldn't verify if it had 2 features I really liked in my 2014 Durango. I wanted the steering wheel mounted audio controls buttons on the back of the steering wheel and I wanted turn by turn directions in the cluster. I went to the dealer in Edgewood simply to verify those and it got sketchy from there. I told them I was working with another dealer and I just wanted to look at it. They said well, how about if we just work up a price for you? Yeah, whatever. Then, they said to get the best financing, I would have to get a loan through a local county bank but I would need to have a connection to Harford County. They said I could tell the bank I went to a Harford County church and I would probably have to drive by the church, do a little internet research on the pastor, and tell a "little white lie". True story. They gave me a crappy price, hounded me for days, general manager said no way would he trade it to another dealer. I decided I would not sell my soul or give up my values for the vehicle I wanted. I ended up at Heritage in Owings Mills, MD and they took care of me pretty nicely and found my second choice for a 75th. Craig at Koons was absolutely awesome but logistically, I just couldn't make it work. See the Koons group buy thread if you want to avoid the drama and get a great deal on a great vehicle.

Footnote: The 75th Limited with Lux (and probably without Lux as well) does indeed have the steering wheel radio control buttons on the back of the steering wheel and the $450 Nav package does indeed have the turn by turn option in the cluster.

If by screaming deal, you mean thousands less than what you'd pay at a normal dealer, Koons is there for you.

I went to the dealer where I purchased my 2014 Durango and they gave me their best price on a high alt. I told them they were still pretty high and the sales manager came over and said I'm a good, repeat customer, knock $1000 off that best price.

Koons was still about $2,000 less than that. Spend some time finding the Koons group buy thread on here.

Re: 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee 75th Anniversary Edition

I bought mine in June. I was actually looking for an all black one and found it at a dealership 15 miles from me. I went to look at it and found the Granite colored one right next to it and fell in love. The black one looked like it had been washed with a brillo pad before it came off the assembly line. It had more options than the one I originally wanted and after I traded in my '12 and talked the salesman down, I got it for less than the one I wanted in the first place.

I love the initial quality of it except for the crappy street tires it came with and the AC problem where it blows warm humid air every few minutes. Ive been to the dealer and contacted Jeep about it but they keep saying "they cant repeat the problem" even though it happens every couple miles.

Re: 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee 75th Anniversary Edition

Just to chime in here. Just got a white 75th White Limited and love it! Coming from a 2014 black limited and was debating a regular 2016 or the 75th. As soon as I saw the 75th in person I was sold. This is a good looking car. Plus that it is basically exactly the same as the 2017, makes this one a good decision! And btw my dealer had a bunch of 17s in the lot and this with the bronze, black gloss and painted mirrors looks way better, especially in white!

Just got a great deal on a 2017 Limited 75th anniversary from Craig at Koons last Thursday. His price is definitely unbeatable and working with him could not be any easier. Could not recommend buying at Koons any more.
