Re: 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee REFRESH

So are we looking at a 10% power increase (hp and tq) or just hp?

Either way better fuel economy and almost 400hp from the Hemi makes me want to wait a couple months longer than I was going too.

If you also did not know what "multiair" is, I found this, with nice illustrations: Fiat's Multiair Valve-Lift System Explained - Tech Dept. - Car Reviews - Car and Driver

It is one of the things I miss from my 2006 Explorer, as it allowed me to take things in and out of the back without opening the garage door, and to take things out when some other things might fall out. I hope the new version has opening rear glass.

What about some type of maximum height adjustment on the struts for opening the liftgate. I think even the lowly Escape has this feature. It's about time the GC had it. It is highly desirable for those of us with a low ceiling height in our garages.

It goes without saying, if the 2016's get flipper glass then ya gotta wait for that!

Re: 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee REFRESH

I truly think it's unlikely that the "flipper glass" will come back on this JGC platform at this point. Maybe the next platform debuting with the MY18 new platform, but I'm not going to hold my breath on that! But the height limiting setting is an excellent idea...if the mechanism they use will support it.

Well, the NY Auto Show press days are April 1 and 2. Hopefully we'll get some official updates on the '16 GC.

I was going to get a 15 Altitude but if there is a refresh on the horizon i want to wait and see what there will be in store. Especially if it involves better gas mileage.

The diesel involves better gas mileage.

IMHO, incremental mpg gains with the race to meet CAFE reqs and other metrics directly related to fuel efficiency are a given. Static year over year mpg is now an anomoly. No manufacturer can afford to stand still, their competition isn't. My point in bringing this up is that unless the mpg improvement is purported to be substantial it is not a decision criteria per se.

The system on the Escape is really convenient. You fully open the gate, pull it down to the height you want and hold the button for 5 seconds. It's nice being able to open it in the garage, or even back out of the garage without closing it.

But I'd give it all up for a flipper!

Good plan.
I was impatient when I made my purchase ;only to regret not waiting for the MY2014 refresh by 10 months

Now I'm like you ,gonna wait and see what the new platform brings.

In the mean time I still love what I got!.
