Well, perhaps my memory is flawed, mabe I'm thinking of a vehicle my uncle owned. I was in college, after all...and you know what that does to memory.

Re: 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee REFRESH

On the wk2jeeps site the following features are listed for 2016 or 2017-up...any ideas if they will show up for 2016?...Also, any ideas if the engines will have more torque as well, a bump in torque to 290 or 300 ft-lb would make the V6 perfect for this car.

"Anticipated new/enhanced safety features for 2016 or 2017-up Grand Cherokee models:
Electronic brake-force distribution Optimizes stopping distances and control under all vehicle loading conditions by regulating braking pressure, front-to-rear.

Electronic parking brake (EPB) with Safe Hold Console-lever electronic parking brake supplants conventional pull-handle/push-pedal system; can be activated while driving (pull up switch and hold); can be released automatically by engaging forward or reverse gears with driver buckled in and door closed; also features Safe Hold, which stops the vehicle using the motor on caliper (MOC) at each rear wheel if driver unlatches seat belt and opens door without placing vehicle in park.

Full-speed Forward Collision Warning-Plus Radar and camera technology combine to determine if frontal impact appears imminent. If so, system pre-fills brakes, then transmits audible and visual warnings for driver to intervene. No response triggers brief brake application as tactile alert; if driver remains unresponsive and frontal collision risk remains, brakes are applied to slow vehicle before impact. System can bring vehicle to full stop if speed is reduced below 20 miles per hour.

LaneSense Departure Warning-Plus Alerts and assists driver with corrective action; leverages electronic power steering (EPS) to deliver subtle steering-wheel input when system detects need for course correction.

ParkSense Parallel/Perpendicular Park Assist Ultrasonic parking sensors on bumper guide driver into parking space. The system automatically controls steering-wheel angle, driver controls, gear position, brake, and accelerator. Parallel parking possible on either side of vehicle; for perpendicular parking, vehicle backs itself into space.

ParkSense front and rear park assist systems with stop and release in reverse, at low speeds, ultrasonic sensors detect stationary objects. If imminent collision is detected, system will provide a momentary, autonomous brake pulse, then release. Below 4.4 mph, system will bring vehicle to a stop before releasing."

.....

Completely agree. Rear limited-slip diff (or locker like Cherokee) in the ORA packages, and engine start-stop (like Cherokee...) to boost the mpg even more, would further cement parting of my cash.

Engine start stop is retarded. I would pay more money not to have that crap.

Totally agree.

My wife's 2014 BMW 328 sedan has it...and she hates it. Luckily you only have to disable it once, not every time you restart the vehicle.

I wonder how many starter motors die a premature death with this system.

As for the refresh coming for the 2016 Grand Cherokee...I'd be happy with just the following:

1) MUCH improved Quality Control from Chrysler

2) Electronic parking brake

3) Improved V6 transmission, and a slight bump in power & gas mileage from the V6

4) 4G radio...along with a 2016 NAV map...not the 2 year old shit we 2014 owners got

5) 200 to 400 lb reduction in weight

6) LED lights all around

7) An improved paint job, and body parts installed/aligned correctly at the assembly plant

8) MUCH improved Quality Control from Chrysler...can't say this enough

I'd love to see a heads up display, sonar like the new range has for water depth and a better performing Hemi in the non SRT's.

Re: 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee REFRESH

I too would like to see a return to a front limited slip differential.

If they go with that BS start/stop technology, my years of driving GC's will come to an end.

I would hope they finally go to all LED taillights on Jeeps flagship vehicle. Even the Dart has LED taillights.
