It will be a cold day in hell before I own a vehicle with stop/start.

Well, if you live long enough...that might be difficult.

I'm getting sick of this crap, if someone wants it fine let them option it but I shouldn't have to pay for something this I don't want. Plus how long is the starter going to last in daily stop and go traffic jams?

If you want to drive a Jeep, better get used to it if you want a 3.6L. If not, grab a hemi or diesel before they get start/stop.

I wouldn't be surprised if more and more manufacturers start doing this too. They have to raise the gas mileage any way they can.

That said, the ESS is part of the reason I got the Hemi. Didn't want to fool with it, nor was I willing to guinea pig the updated 3.6.

Well, personally I wouldn't want a V8 that shuts down half its cylinders whenever it feels like it.

Re: 2016 Owners...how's the stop and start working?

Most of what I have read regarding the ESS Start/Stop is that all manufacturers are going to have to include it. It is another way to squeeze a bit more MPGs to meet the CAFE standards. I suppose we better get used to it because it isn't something we can stop from happening.

Government CAFE buzz kill bureaucrats can go to hell imo. There are already law suits and government agency investigations into computer false alarms slamming on peoples brakes. Given the goofs in your average vehicle navigation system who really trusts the computer to take over the brakes and steering wheel.

I think we may have found the one and only reason to elect that Bozo, billionaire. Of course, after he builds all those walls, we won't be able to get any of the components that make our cars go. Schwin will be making a comeback.
