Turbo-V6s are certainly coming fast and strong. Look at the new Lincoln MKX that will launch this fall:

2.7-liter Twin-Turbo EcoBoost with 335 horses and a healthy 375 lb-ft of torque..

I for one hope the V6 turbo comes for this 2016 refresh.

Twin Turbo will be awesome. Here in Australia they have a Ford Falcon Ute with a 4.0 Straight Six with single Turbo. Properly modified and tuned, the thing can be a monster. Speaking of monsters, the Nissan Skyline GTR is a 3.8L Twin Turbo. I know it will be a Jeep and a SUV but I wouldn't discount it just yet.

I very much liked my 2006 Ford Explorer V8, and since Ford turned the Explorer into a front wheel drive junk, I replaced it with my 2014 Grand Cherokee V8.
So you think this whole cheap gas thing is going to stick around, huh? It's temporary, and you can bet the price will go up again so high it will make you beg for triple super-charged 4 bangers

Good timing: Ford has announced their power plant for the 2015 Raptor and it'll be a 3.5L v6 twin turbo making 450HP. Read the article for torque theories because those figures have not been revealed yet, according to the article.

Re: 2016 to get twin turbos?

I'm all for a TT engine. I've owned MANY turbo cars and I'll tell you...my Audi S4's that I had with the 2.7TT and bigger snails, fueling, tweaked code, downpipes and exhaust sounded JUST as mean as my V8 Hemi. And talk about fun factor. There is definitely replacement for displacement this day in age. Cheers!

Re: 2016 to get twin turbos?

Twin turbos make a lot of sense for a V engine, no energy draining crossover. Only issue is that you might think that with TT each would be smaller/faster accellerating ones than a single. Rong. If anything it needs to be bigger to compensate for the uneven exhaust pulses so not cheap.

But add direct injection to eliminate detonation isuues and you can approach diesel power on gas. Just make sure the bottom end is stout enough to handle the increased pressures, that is part of what killed the GM diesel.

ps anyone who does not like the sound of a six never heard a Corvair on trombones IMNSHO.
