Yeah i dont like that Grandmas quilt work on the interior either,. Exterior changes are good, though minor

I was never a fan of that quilt look either. Ever since they started doing that on the Kia Optima which is a respectable car, but I just don't like the look. Maybe it would look a little better on another color besides the gray they keep showing.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Is there any specific reason why jeep won't take the light frost/beige interior from the overland and make it an option for the summit? I can't imagine it's that expensive for them to do.

...that looks familiar! I had the limited with the gold trim and the grey leather interior. I don't recall the exact year of mine and the photos were not marked on the back of them before I scanned them awhile back.

If they start making everything from one trim level and option on another trim level, there is no integrity to trim levels.

In reality they could start each order with Grand Cherokee at the top of the page and have everybody pick and choose. Marketing is a science today, and it is all about marketing.

I've also wished for that...it would be the perfect interior for me. But as Bill notes, they want to differentiate Summit significantly in some ways from other trim levels and the interior choices reflect that. Unfortunately, they also reflect discord from almost every other luxury vehicle by not offering a light colored interior; the exception being the excessively expensive new optional interior in the MY17 Summit. That makes me sad.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

It honestly was the deciding factor for me when purchasing. I went with the overland because it had ALMOST the same amount of features as the summit but came with the light interior (plus I think the overland has a more aggressive look than the summit).

I get the need to differentiate trim levels, but that can be done with the exterior as they're doing now

They offer black interior on every trim level from bottom to top, the least they could do is the same thing for the lighter beige.

Exactly and consistent with both my point and my desires.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

With Jeep looking to really push into the luxury market, I won't be too surprised if the new Laguna interior is standard on MY19. Then, the interior will be so different then other models color won't matter. But to really break through they will have to have designated Summit dealers who provide extraordinary service.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Perhaps, Bill...but the method of charging five grand list for something like that Laguna interior, even if "standard" and the cost buried isn't going to be a positively perceived thing. Other manufacturers in the "luxury" SUV market, while offering optional, "special" interiors also have broader color selections for buyers who don't want to opt for that high priced treatment. Merc, Volvo, whatever...those of us who just want a lighter color are served.

It absolutely will be interesting to see what FCA does with WL in MY19 relative to these things...

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I'd like to be able to replace my 2011 Laredo that has the QL/ORII, Hemi, back up camera and GPS with another Laredo. Some of us are not looking for the plush version while we use it like a Jeep.
