and with MY 2017 loaded summits pushing close stickers to 70K its probably safe to assume MY2019 loaded summits will be into the 70s. so now what does that mean for the larger and promising to be even more luxurious MY19 Grand Wagoneers loaded into the mid 80s or more maybe? sure they discount them but they are going to need to come up with a better plan then their current dealer and customer service mess they operate or people just wont bit in that price range.

Do the other luxury makes offer the same interior colors in all their trim levels, or do you have to choose different trim levels to get different interiors? I ask this, keeping in mind that all the different JGCs are just different trim levels.

This. It's why my 2017 will be an optioned-out 4x4 Limited.

2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I feel like I'm just being too picky. I like the tougher look of the Overland better. I like the options on the Summit and the better leather (not upgraded Laguna) with softer foam. I want a Luxury Brown Overland but I can't settle on which interior I like. Light frost is too light for me with a pre-schooler and two messy dogs. Black is a little too dark against brown, but could work, had I not spent 16 years with my 5.9 which has black interior (agate). The blue and brown interior is not for me. There is a dealer with a picture of the brown/Sienna brown combo on a Summit... It looks very good but not sure I want a Summit! I have been frustrated with the option and color combinations since the 2014s came out but really am wanting a new Jeep in the next year.

I also can't understand a one-color only $5000 interior upgrade. The quilted look doesn't do it for me, either.

Grr... I'll crawl back under my rock and see if maybe the 17s bring any surprise changes we don't know about, yet. 😳

Mike

How are you coming up with 70k?? Is that really where they will msrp out at? Did I miss something about the pricing for the 2017 models? I know they are gonna be more expensive especially with the fancier interior package, but you can go get a new Summit all day long in the 40s. Where does another 25-30 grand come from? Lol lets face it, no one will be paying 70 grand for a Grand Cherokee. You'll be able to get them new in the 50 range no problem.

Someone earlier priced it out with Diesel, CD, DVD, top leather, california edition, etc. all options added. Yikes, price was high! Gimme a hellcat for that instead!

Yeah a few posts up, i said near 70k, Milous loaded a 2017 Summit up and it stickers at $68,660. Certainly they discount them and you can buy cheaper models if you want but my point was loaded 2017 summits are stickering near 70k. So two years from now what will stickers be touching on a loaded larger more luxurious MY19 Grand Wagoneer.

The Overland looks better than the Summit and costs less and can get HK speaker system and advanced cruise, full automatic safety braking, rear cross path detection, blind spot monitoring on it too, along with rear ELSD and included tow hooks. The Napa leather is nice, as are the cooled seats, and air suspension and same HID bi-xenon headlights with LED DRL surrounds.

^ 100% this.

Really you can option out an overland with almost all the features of a summit while maintaining a more aggressive look AND keeping the lighter interior.

Il be curious to see a fully optioned out overland 4x4 vs a summit once the build feature on the Jeep website is up.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

SOMEONE has got to know.

I want to buy a GC this go around but I'm hung up on something and I need some help/advice.

Being in the wireless communications business for 20+ years I absolutely don't buy dated electronics. My understanding is that Jeep will be introducing a new Uconnect system with a capacitive screen, enhanced processing power and start up times, better resolution and brightness along with Apple and Android integration.

I can't find any direct confirmation anywhere outside the CES show announcement in Las Vegas last January. Since I'm planning on keeping this vehicle for at least 5 years the last thing I want looking at me everyday is a dated screen and non-upgradeable head unit. It kind of looks old now and will look like a dinosaur in a couple of years ...unacceptable for me.

Who makes this unit for Jeep and whats the status?

The last thing I want to do is go out next weekend and buy a 2016 GC and find out I should have waited for the soon to be released 2017 ... or worst I wait and order a 2017 and find out NOONE knows ANYTHING at the dealership - they just want to "sell the tomatoes on the cart" now where I want something better for my $50,000.

I'm not so hung up on the Apple/Android piece as that just software that can be added and upgraded at a later date as long as the hardware delivered on the 2017 is not the current generation unit.

Please don't tell me Jeep just wants to get it right and needs more time work on it ...WRONG answer. Deliver the new generation hardware and the software can be upgraded later.

Everything else looks good to me so I can enjoy my first Jeep EXCEPT the dated screen/infotainment technology.

Not ranting just frustrated as I can't find anything definitive ... this is not a National Security issue that can't be shared and revealed. Cruise on over to Ford, GM, and others as they get it.

thanks for helpful responses! - Milous can you jump in here?

...
Or better yet, you can option out a Limited with almost all the features of an Overland, but without the cheesy stitching and piping and seat logos and the goofy wood steering wheel, and have the lovely combination of light seats and black floors. The only maybe-important thing your can't get that way is the HK.
