So anyone here successfully done a radio swap? Really itching to order my 17, so may consider doing a swap when the new uconnect is available if it won't be out until early next year.

Not sure if this is what youre looking for, but this is a video of someone swapping out the base model radio for the 8.4 unit.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Wouldn't swapping the radio void the vehicle warranty since there such a big part of them functioning today?

This lack of CarPlay thing may force me to buy another brand altogether, sounds stupid but it's something I really want since I will have the vehicle for probably 10 years. Hopefully my Durango can hold out until it comes available, any major repairs ($1500+) and I'm getting rid of it. Not sure what I would buy, there are really no other SUV's under 50k that look decent to me. I would probably just get a car then and possibly keep the Durango for the winters only.

this is just my interpretation of the printed words in the warranty..

IF you have a DEALER install true oem mopar parts (like those in the video) your warranties (all of them) are NOT voided but the mods themselves are not covered...of course, c your dealer for a ruling and get it in writing....

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Stitching on the dash, ugly plastic trim conversation.

With the 75th Anniversary Limited - problem solved. No stitching on the dash and the ugly plastic trim has been replaced by nicely painted black trim! Also with the Limited in 2017 you get additional option availability not available in prior models - it's the perfect resolution!!!

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Hi Milous or anyone here in the forum. I'm not seeing in the list of Trailhawk amenities and options the bi xenon headlamps. Can this be added as an option or perhaps there's a Mopar bi xenon or LED based accessory available to be added as halogens I'm not a big fan of in lieu of the higher visibility you get both off and on pavement with both LED and Xenon. Would be very surprised if this isn't available other than aftermarket for the Trailhawk. Thank you for any input or advice available on this.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Is there a list yet available for optional upgrade equipment available for the Trailhawk? ie. Led fog lamps, leather center console and perforated leather seats with Air Conditioning similar to Limited and Overland, 800 Watt sound similar to Summit, rain sensitive wipers, lane departure warning, etc.? Are the standard seats included with Trailhawk true leather or synthetic leather? Thanks again!

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Thank you Milous, this is extremely informative and very much appreciated! I don't see any power rear lift gate option listed, is this standard similar to the Limited and above models or perhaps an available upgrade option as well? Also with the Trailhawk seats, are they perforated with Air Conditioning available similar to Limited and above or are seats upgradeable as well to include these features? Is the center console leather based or synthetic as the only option available for the Trailhawk? Are the standard seats true leather with real leather suede or synthetic based in any way? Thanks again for your always impeccable followup! When will ordering be available for the Trailhawk?

Wow! That looks stupid easy! I would definitely be able to do that myself given the dealer would most likely charge a ridiculous amount for such an easy radio swap.

Milous - the new Uconnect should remain the same size as current model right?
