We saw the same thing with eco mode on the '14s

Yes, but Jeep fixed ECO to always remember how yo set it for 2015 and 2016. So maybe they will do the same for stop/start for 2017?

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I just wanted to thank Milous for all the awesome information he gives to the community. It is really great stuff and I was following it for the past six months. Unfortunately, I am punching out - I just couldn't bring myself to spend this much money on a car and it have an outdated media system, even with the awesome group buy that I happen to be in range for. It isn't a dealbreaker for everyone, but in the end it was for me. Hope everyone else enjoys the Jeep!

It wouldn't be that 'outdated' but to each their own. The current system is miles ahead of just about anything out there, especially at this price point.

Ugh man not a good decision lol. Like Overlanding said, it is not an outdated system at all. Even without CarPlay or whatever, it's still a much better system hands down. IMO nothing beats uConnect for ease of use and just all around a damn good system. For example I was in a new 2017 Honda last week messing with CarPlay...I literally was getting pissed using it. I couldn't get back into my Jeep quick enough. I honestly still don't see what all the hype is about CarPlay anyway.

Yes, but only after negative feedback. Then they go do the same thing again. Somebody at Jeep doesn't listen to the customers. The focus groups they use must be hand picked to say yes to everything the engineers want to do.

The simple solution for me "HEMI".

Maybe it has to do with qualifying with federal rules and being able to advertise the best possible mpg.

yep, FCA is paying a fortune for Tesla e-credits....gonna get ugly to meet these next 2 fleet goals.

EDIT: what I meant to say was it has cost them a fortune in Tesla e-credits to make this years' 35.5mpg (30mpg truck) fleet average but they actually have to have lotsa high mpg "e" product to make 54.5mpg avg by 2025.

If it says diamond black crystal pearl coat then it's highly metallic.

Actually Eco mode is the only solution in this century to help the husbands to persuade their wives letting them buy this truck. And it works, women believe the car with an Eco mode is running very Eco. Haha

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I actually like the ECO mode. With the diesel and the slight turbo lag I've noticed the shifting can be somewhat abrupt in the lower gears. Normal mode is nice when you are wanting to get on it and have fun, but on leisurely drives ECO tends to smooth things out.
