Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Per Milous, an Altitude model will be available in October 2016. Will this model be a replacement for the '15/'16 High Altitude or will it be an entirely different model? Anybody have an idea??

"Assuming" it's like the previous "Altitude", it will be based on the Laredo and primarily be an appearance type package. High Altitude was based on the Overland (much higher end) with Summit fascias. But honestly, "we don't know yet" is the best and most accurate answer.

Need some opinions - definitely going with Spider Monkey SRT reps, but can't decide on gloss black or hyper silver. Friends seem to like silver but I'm still leaning black. Any black Altitude or HA folks that get annoyed by the gloss black wheels being so different than the flake black paint? Color will be Diamond Black on my 17 Summit.ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1470412439.186817.jpgImageUploadedByJeepGarage1470412452.384304.jpg

The grill is easy enough to swap out. If you don't like the black, you can have it color matched for relatively cheap at any reputable body shop. The rings can be painted if you want. The mesh can be swapped out for the black mesh that will be on the 75th anniversary or Trailhawk editions.

The wheels also can be swapped out -- but if you want the Mopar ones they will cost you about a total of $1800. You might be able to talk your dealer into swapping the factory wheels with an in-stock 2015 wheel for less than that.

What's weird is that is hyper silver and not black chrome but some pics I have seen of the hyper silver look like this which is WAY different ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1470413116.248875.jpg

I have a Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl High Altitude with Gloss Black Wheels. The Brilliant Black and Gloss Black look great together and are not an issue at all. I think the silver if they match your platinum accents would look better though. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of gloss black wheels on a black car/suv, too much black but they do look awesome on their own outright because of the gloss on them.

Thanks! I wish I could find a consistent pic of those hyper silver so I would know if they would truly match the platinum pieces or look too chrome-like

Will your Summit be all matching (Platinum or Cali or whatever it's called)?
