That new SRT front end does have a bit of the designed-by-committee look. Not an improvement IMO.

Yes defiantly looks like they said lets put a charger hellcat lower grill on the jeep and call it a day, now if that's good or bad cant tell until we see one in person.

Yeah - like they tried too hard. Sure not everyone will agree but think it looks like they tried to model it after some aftermarket body kit...ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1470771445.563187.jpg

This is the 2017 Summit with California Package. I DO like how the "Grand Cherokee" on the side doors are not full chrome but more of a black with silver outline.

The only thing I didn't have time to ask the dealer is: The headliner in this unit was a light gray; can it be ordered in black?
In the photos of the 17 Summit, I see that Jeep's quality control is still atrocious. The liftgate is still misaligned. Notice the huge gap on the right compared to the left. Pretty sad that in it's 7th year of production, they still haven't tightened up their quality control. They just don't care. Best thing that can happen is to get rid of that Sergio Marchionne. Since all he's concerned about is his huge stock dividends he gets every year. What a gravy train he's been riding.

Ugh - really starting to dislike those new Summit wheels. Even got a "are those the wheels...they are ugly" from significant other which got me rethinking them. May take them off ASAP and replace with some gloss black spider monkey reps.

Agree on the ugly wheels on the 17 Summit. I think something better could be found at Pep Boys.

Yes, it's an independent feature.

So that leads to me this question. MDbones mentioned his 2014 steering being pretty bad. Since I am not noticing terrible steering on my 2015 HA, is there a difference between steering between a 2014 V6 and a 2015 V6? Maybe I need more time behind the wheel of a 2016 to be able to make a better conclusion, but based on 25 miles of driving, I couldn't tell a difference between 2016 HA steering in sport mode, and a 2015 HA.
Does anyone else have any input? How could his 2014 have been that bad? Also, FWIW, I had a 2014 Summit V8 and I didn't like the steering. IMO was wayyy too heavy and made the entire Jeep feel like you were driving a tank. However, the 2014 V6 should have had the electric steering no?
The steering on my 14 Overland was the first and only real bitch I had about it. I disliked it from day 1.

I don't recall reading many (or any?) complaints out here from others on that issue. I've never driven a 15 so I have nothing but my 16 to compare it against.

The 14 V6 had electrically assisted hydraulic steering. I assume the 15 was the same. They went to full electric steering across all models in 16, along with the adjustable steering mode settings in U-Connect.

Problem is black wheels have run their course. Now they are just boring to look at.

Everyone's different. I wouldn't buy any other color interior except black, even at a huge discount.

The steering was hydraulically assisted steering. They used an electric motor to spin the pump, instead of a belt. The 'electric' part would not have affected the feel of the steering. The steering felt kind of heavy, but similar to the MDX I traded in.

I still think the best feel came from the old parallelogram steering. Unfortunately it needed more maintenance and took up more room.

I have full electric now, but one thing I never checked. Can tou still steer the car if the electrical system fails?
