I still think the best feel came from the old parallelogram steering. Unfortunately it needed more maintenance and took up more room.

I have full electric now, but one thing I never checked. Can tou still steer the car if the electrical system fails?
Ummm, Bill... you know what I meant.

Yes, you're supposed to still have steering control if the electric steering fails.

I knew, and you knew ... but not everybody knew.

Friday, when I was at Koons looking around the yard I heard a salesman tell his customer that the '17 they were considering had electric steering. The customer said. "I know, I have it on my '14 Limited".

2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I too think the steering on my 15 V6 sucks. It doesn't track down the highway well at all, it doesn't have a very good 'on center' feel. It's my biggest complaint. I am eager to try the new electric steering system. Hopefully it's more sensitive. Because my little 2015 feels like a huge barge.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Jeep should take notice of other brands' wheels. I'm replacing my Jeep with an XC90 in a few months and the wheels on the XC90 are pretty stunning. They are simple yet eye catching. I ordered the optional 22s which are black with polished dual spokes. Something like that would look pretty awesome on the Summit. Or maybe the accessory 22s that they also have.

I know the GC is up for a redesign in 2 years but come on, putting Durango wheels on it and the Durango gets new better looking wheel designs? The Jeep is supposed to be the luxury one out of the two. They really need to invest a whole lot of money into R&D for the next generation GC to give it a fresh and eye catching everything.

^^X2. XC90 is the sexiest 3 row I've ever seen! And yeah, those wheels are killer! Good choice over the standard 20s which are still very decent.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Having grown up with steel wheels and wheel covers, I really prefer wheels the at least pretend to hide the brakes. Maybe with some kind of dust shield behind them.

Then again, I like chrome and quilted leather.

My friends make fun of me for calling it sexy, haha but it's damn sexy. Especially the R Design. I had initially decided on the 2017 GC, a High Altitude or Summit, but the front updates turned me off from it and gave me the extra push I needed to get the XC90. It's a little sad, I've driven Jeeps since I started driving 10 years ago. Maybe the next GC will be stunning and bring me back to Jeep.

I'll do the same next spring. Although I feel a bit 'guilty' for doing so, I think the XC90 has a bit more to offer than the somewhat aged GC - at virtually the same $$ (I'm leasing). I'm not having an issue with the facelift. I just think the refresh falls short in providing some features you can expect on a MY17 vehicle in that class - like a top view camera etc. What really ticked me off was that they even took away the adaptive headlights on the Summit while the Volvo can be ordered with adaptive full LEDs. I know that the current GC will be replaced fairly soon so it made sense they didn't offer all the features like HUD or an all-digital speedometer. The timing simply favors the Volvo right now.

However, I could see myself again in the all-new GC later on because I'm pretty sure the next GC will get all the bells and whistles again.

Always hated offset spoked wheels like those above, just looks odd have them pointing one way on the left side and the opposite on the right.

These are my favorite wheels on the XC90:

Are you saying Jeep should remove the option to view the speedometer as analog? It is just a 'video' interpretation of a digital signal, one I prefer.

Maybe I'm missing something. It wouldn't be the first time.
