The point I was trying to make is that if you want Active Safety, Blind Spot/Cross Path must also be specified. Ordering may be setup this way because the option is also available as a stand-alone, without the package.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Hate to say it but the 2017's are growing on me. I think with the wheels they are going for more luxury look. The new wheel options remind me of a BMW or Mercedes and give it a more busy/luxury look, the previous years gave it a more bold look. With Jeep planning on reintroducing the Wagoneer at their top of the line luxury brand in a couple years maybe this is something we are going to see more of.

I am still waffling back and forth betwen a GC and Challenger. I have been looking all around for a 2016 Challenger R/T Plus Shaker in B5 Blue lately and found a few but no one will drop the price about $1500-$2000 where i want it to be to buy one. I think I am done with realistically buying a 2016 HA and may just scrap GC all together if I don't hear anything about CP by spring.

I think I may be in the same boat. Had a Charger V6 rental for 10 days and was fun to drive a car instead of an SUV..... even went to configure a Charger online with all the bells and whistles..... Or order a 2017 GC Summit again come spring and CP will push me to order one instead of holding on to the 2014 another year.

Well.....dealer just ordered a 2017 Grand Cherokee Summit EcoDiesel. Diamond Black exterior and Sierra Brown and Black interior. No leather package of course, and no DVD or CD player, but everything else though. MSRP looks to be around 62k-63k.

Salesman still has not said a word to me about a possible final price. Is that normal? My last couple car buys have all been through emails so this is a new experience for me.

Did you make a deposit? Dealers are often less likely to negotiate on a specially ordered vehicle. I personally wouldn't put a deposit without getting the price negotiated down. I ordered from Koons and while I haven't taken delivery yet, I feel like it has been an easy process thus far. Koons beat every dealer I talked to within 500 miles of me by more than $2000. Seemed like a no brainer.

Always agree on price "in writing" when ordering from the factory "plus available incentives" at the time of delivery...and negotiate off of invoice, not MSRP.

Thank you......I put a deposit down of $500. I hope I did not screw up. There has been no credit check or anything yet. So other than the $500 dollars there is nothing in stone or official for them. I was thinking the ball is in my court with this. If they don't come reasonably close to what I will be asking for then I will just walk....and now they will be stuck with a low volume selling diesel variant sitting on their lot. They already have 2 older diesel Grand Cherokees that have been sitting on lot there for quite a long time.

At the time of ordering you should walk out the door with an itemize invoice, right down to tax and title fees. And as Jim said, plus available incentives. When I ordered mine a couple of weeks ago I came away with a copy of the actual order form from Jeep. We worked from the invoice figure, which was around $4,000 less than MSRP. From the invoice they knocked off another $4,000.

The salesman said I would receive this form on Monday due to some problem with the system. So once I have this order form I will begin negotiations from there. I want to have everything finalize before delivery. It will be nice to be able walk in....sign some papers....grab the keys and be on my way home with my new ride.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I have to agree with Jim and Bill. The selling price should be negotiated and in writing before you put down any down payment on the order. You don't wait until the vehicle is built and delivered to do that. Sure, you can walk away if you don't like the price but you run a high risk of losing that $500 down payment as a result.

My closing quote mark was in the wrong place. Agree on the price before ordering "less available incentives at time of delivery".
