Well damn....I am working with a few $100 above Invoice. I got some work to do or need to fly up to where you're at and buy from those guys.

I am buying through Koons in Virginia. The have a special group buy offer for members of the Jeep Garage. Check the Vendors section on this site.

If that's too far, you should look into the Chrysler Affiliates Program, If you work, or are retired, you may already be eligible. Your company's 'human resources dept." would give you the company code. If not, you can join a group like Tread Lightly, or others, that are affiliated. If you go through the affiliates program the highest price you pay (on most Chrysler vehicles) is 1% below invoice. That price comes from Chrysler and the dealer can only go down from there. You can even remind your dealer that using the affiliates option drops his price to 2% below invoice (in addition to all his other incentives and discounts).

https://www.fcausaffiliates.com/FCAU...oginLayout.jsp

Do some research before your next dealer visit.

I got $3,700 below invoice which included $1,000 rebate (= 8% below invoice). 11.36% off sticker price. I did not order; it was on the lot, just what I wanted.

Another FCA Disappointment

The 2017 GC Summit press release states "Jeep's Quadra-Drive II 4x4 system with ELSD is standard on all Summit models, as is Grand Cherokee's Quadra-Lift air suspension and Selec-Speed Control."

As my factory order is in shipment status, Milous provided me the Build Sheet for the 3.6 Summit 4x4 order. I was shocked to see Quadra-Trac II listed.

I asked Milous this and he said the Press Release is wrong and should have said the Quadra-Drive is only available on the CRD and Hemi.

It's been that way for as long as I can remember. Every once in a while something shows up making people think otherwise. I think it is because the folks writing the stuff don't know the difference, and nothing is proof read anymore. People think 'spell check' fixes all their errors.

The good news is, you probably won't miss it.

BTW - the Press Release that's posted now has and editor's note indicating the discrepancy.

Ahhh... so FCA finally making QDII available with the 3.6L is false? I was always skeptical about that.

Even if the vehicle has QDII it still uses the QTII transfer case.

Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 - 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit

Just checked the Press Release on the FCA website; no updates, still states "all Summit models". I honestly thought this was new and true for the MY17. I will make a small stink when my order arrives next week.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

To my knowledge, QD and QDII has never been offered with the V6 engines. I was skeptical of them now making it available on the 17 when it never had been before.

The QD system was introduced in 1999 and is based on the QTII system but adds limited slip differentials to the front and rear axles to create a four-wheel drive system capable of not only directing torque to the axle with best traction but to the individual wheel on an axle with best traction.

QD uses the New Venture Gear NV247 transfer case mated to front and rear axles containing Jeep's Vari-Lok which are gerotor style limited slip differentials.

Applications: 1999-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WJ)

QDII uses the New Venture Gear NV245 transfer case mated to front and rear axles containing electronic limited slip differentials or ELSDs. Jeep added traction control in 2005 and starting in 2011 only a rear ELSD is offered, while the front has an open differential.

Applications: 2005–Present Jeep Grand Cherokee (WK,WK2), 2006-2010 Jeep Commander (XK)

I can confirm that the NV245 tcase is definitely not in the WK2, the 3 transfer cases in the WK2 are the MP2010, MP 3010, and the MP 3023. Just FYI

Not according to the wk2jeeps.com 2017 info; it still says:

What's New:

• ...
• New: Rear ELSD with Selec-Speed Control Added onto 3.6L

The disconnect may be that it only comes with the Off Road II package on Limited and Overland models. It does not show as available on the Summit.

Who knows for sure? Try ordering one.

Seriously though... FireRN was specifically talking about QDII on a 3.6L Summit.

I can't and won't argue that the info I have may be out of date. You'd know that better than I would.

I was only trying to point out what differentiates QTII (regardless of transfer case supplier) from QDII, and that QDII still uses the QTII transfer case.
