Love it! I like this even better than the Brilliant Black - thanks a mil for taking great pics. 👍

I also really like the looks of the fog light when it is on.

"Imagine" . . . blow up the 1st pic., focus on the middle slightly darker part of the hood . . . what do you see . . . ? I see a distant galaxy (shot from the space station) . . . and look at that bright bluish streak (?) . . . next time I look up at the stars I will think of Your G.C. !

Well I tried to post a video of Archer talking about black and slightly darker black but failed. Oh well.

Anyway, love the new slightly darker black.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I know it's not available yet, but have a question about Apple Car Play. I currently have a '15 Summit. I also have an iPhone. When a text message is received, a message appears on the nav screen giving me to option to listen or reply. The blue tooth listen function works great, but the reply function does not work.

Assuming I have Apple Car Play, here is my question: I receive a text message while listening to Sirius radio and my iPhone is not physically plugged in. When a text message is received, will I be able to touch the reply button on the Nav screen and reply to the text via bluetooth? Or, will I have to connect my iPhone and access the Apple Car Play App before replying? Hope I'm being
clear. If not, will try to rephrase. I'm technologically challenged. Thanks!

There's an update for 2014 and 2015s where you can use Siri. I haven't gotten the update yet though, but some on here have and say it works.

From what I've read, Carplay only works when the iPhone is plugged in.

As noted, you can trigger Siri to respond to your text. Just press AND HOLD the Voice Recognition button. You can then just say things like "text Bob I will be late for the meeting." Siri will recite what she thinks you said and ask if you are ready to send it. By using the Siri Eyes Free you can use Bluetooth (vs. all CarPlay implementations currently which require you to be connected with the Lightning connector (i.e. hardwired))

In my '16 Escalade and '16 Canyon (both with Apple Carplay)..the phone has to be plugged in in order for CarPlay to work. Needless to say, I do not ever use it. If you really want to see the functionality (or lack of it), go rent a new vehicle from Enterprise that has it and spend the day realizing that you definitely do not need it!

That's pretty much the way CarPlay works at the present...hardwired only. Apple is working on the idea of wireless, but there's apparently concerns with lag-time, etc.

Test it for yourself? What a waste of time. All you need do is search the forums, listen to the hype, count the number of people who won't by a car that doesn't have it, and it is obvious that you need it.

I'm sure Chrysler tested the 14-15 shifter. Look what testing gets you.

Not all that excited for the carplay, but am intrigued by the new radio head unit that is supposed to be coming out. I wonder how much more advanced that will be over the current system.

forget carplay, I'm still still trying to figure out the purpose of the vented type grille?
