That's correct. ZF is building it here in the US.

I think they lost my Jeep

Looking at the tracking thread it seems that 'pending inspection' 'KZ status', and the first 'ingate' happen within a few hours of each other.

"ingate" confirms that a vehicle is physically at a location. My vehicle hit 'KZ' on September 1, but it was never confirmed that it was physically at any location.

Could it be that one of those old bitties in bookkeeping with her glasses propped on the tip of her nose, hacked the computers, and with a little help from Marlon snuck my Jeep out the back door?

--

Edit: They found it at 10:18 this morning in New Boston. I should see it in a week or so.

Wtf?? Seriously? Is that the case with every car that self parks? I never knew that, I can do it easy peasy in a few seconds myself, I've never researched the auto parallel park on any vehicle before.

I've lost any interest in the feature if that's the case

As far as I know they are all the same, at least for now. I've had it on a Ford for almost 2 years. I tried it once. I think if I still lived in NY I might have some use for it. As you drive along the street it tells you when it finds a spot. It probably will pick spots that the typical driver might consider too short.

Where I live now I have never had a parking problem. When I get the new Jeep maybe I'll see if it can back into my garage.

Since I might parallel park maybe twice a year I get pretty rusty and can scuff up tire or rim in some cars. My wife really butchered a rim once parallel parking. I think it's useful for that since it gets the angle perfect every time. And usually get it perfect in one pass. So it's handy for that.

Also one other requirement. You must have exactly one open spot. If there are two, it won't see it.

I also don't consider the "Lane Assist" feature a safety feature at all.

It was one of the reasons I waited for a 2017 and is a bit disappointing.

But I do really like the adjustable steering. But I assume you get that on 2016 too.

Maybe they will improve it over time with software updates.

I'm not disappointed I got it. But it's way dumber than I thought.

I have not had much of a problem before, and with the advance of the backup camera and park sensors, I feel like is all anyone should need!

I don't think it can back into a garage right? Lol

I don't park parallel very often, but when I do I always am proud of myself because my girlfriend is in the car too and I just zoom in and get it done.

Adjustable steering?

I have a 2014.. so I am a little behind. The parallel parking assist would only be a consideration since I share the vehicle with my girlfriend. But in reality she would never be in a situation here to parallel park, if I wasn't with her, and obviously driving, already. If we are together I'm driving, if she is by herself, she wouldn't even consider parking in a parallel spot.
Like I said, now I'm not even interested at all in trying to acquire a vehicle with that feature

Lane assist seems nice from what I've heard, but if it's anything complicated like parallel park feature not interested in that either haha

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Just did a very late 2.5hr drive after a lot of physical work during the day.

I usually can only make it half way and my wife takes over.

I made it the whole way. That never happens.

Hmmm. Is the lane assist less fatiguing? Was it the quieter ride (noise cancelation and acoustic glass). Was it the better HK radio keeping me engaged in the tunes?

Not sure, but I'm leaning towards giving lane assist the credit. For now.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I was out playing with our summit yesterday, didn't realize the lane assist actually steered you back into your lane. I thought it was just an audio warning like on our Cadillac SRX.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

That velvet red has to be my next color. 1 gray and 2 blacks in 5 years I need a new color. Usually the dealership buys my jeep back off lease a year early but haven't heard anything this year. Only one year left so that's no biggie if they don't.
