Did they get rid of the black headliner in dark (Black or Granite) going from 2016 to 2017? If that's the case I'll probably entertain an Overland instead. Bummer.
Our headliner is black.

Jeep Brown still gets a matching dark brown headliner.
That would bum me out if I had to buy a new JGC at this point...and would further force me back "down" to an Overland from the Summit. I just don't get this focus on "dark dark dark" for a luxury vehicle interior by Jeep. It's good to offer it, but why not also offer an alternative...and one that doesn't cost five grand extra. . I would hate a black headliner for so many reasons, including making the whole interior feel smaller and cramped. Subjective, I know, but I'm not alone in this opinion. Sheesh...pretty much every other "lux" SUV can be had with a nice, light colored interior, but not JGC.

In reality it is closer to 4 grand. I would have been happier with a conventional interior in light grey. But I wanted to try a Summit and despise dark interiors. I do plan on keeping this one for a while.

One of the least significant features of the Summit that I really like is the cover over the trailer hitch. Crazy I know, but one reason I didn't want another Overland.

I usually go with the lighter beige (neutral) interior because gray is too bland and black is too dark and shows every little scuff and scrape.

My last 2 GC's have had all black interiors. A different color wasn't an option for me due to these being on the dealer's lot. The pano roof compensated for it somewhat and I haven't really noticed a cramped feeling like I've gotten in other vehicles.

What I absolutely detest is when the headliner doesn't match the rest of the interior. To me, nothing looks more mismatched than a black/saddle brown interior with a light gray headliner.

When I saw that on one of the Jeeps at Koons my first thought was that somebody made a mistake.

No kidding... that was my initial thought as well.

They started that on the WK's, which was one of many reasons why I skipped over that generation.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I think they got it perfect

Love the dark head liner. Feels sporty like a well fitted leather jacket.

The blue grey looks all fluffy and nice. Maybe a flower pot holder on the dash like a VW bug would go nice with it. 😜

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I know this is not the right thread probably but. What would you guys say is a fair deal for Trailhawk lease. 12K a year with luxury package and such. They have MSRP of 49,225 and selling it for 44,453. Think I can negotiate another 1.5K off that price? And put maybe 1500 down. Looking for monthly payments on par of my limited now $440

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I'm curious to see a black interior summit with the grey headliner in person. One of the main reasons I choice overland over summit was the lack of light interior. I'm curious to see if the grey headliner makes the black interior more light and open feeling. The all black feels like a dungeon to me. Especially with tint, it's like sitting in a closet
