Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

^^They were saying the BLACK interior does not have a black headliner for 2017, it's gray. A step backwards IMO.

While my '15 Summit has the saddle interior, like previously mentioned, when I saw the grey headliner, I though they made a mistake. I've gotten used to it but think the black would be better.

Hey does anyone know when the 20" wheels will be available on the Trailhawk?

Maybe this is a question for Milous???

That option *might* have been dropped. It no longer appears on any order guides or documents, not sure what's going on.

I was surprised they ever had 20s listed. Off road option on Overland deletes 20s, and if you reselect 20s it deletes ORII. It was the same when I ordered my 14 Overland.

Going up in wheel size for off-road seems counterintuitive to me. I suspect the equivalent Goodyear AT tires in 20" may be the issue. The 20" has a significantly lower max load rating than the 18".

I always thought it was the short sidewall. They may be OK for sand and snow, but I would think they could be an issue rock climbing.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Hi all. Currently own a 2015 Charger R/T Road & Track, but looking into moving into an SUV, specifically a Grand Cherokee in the future, since I have a baby on the way. However, I still owe about $29,000 on my Charger. I've been doing most of my research using this forum, and appreciate everyone's help. While I love the '17 Trailhawk, I'm not so sure I can afford a $45,000 SUV purchase. Using the link to the 2017 "Build & Price" page, I've put together, what I believe, is a very nice, well rounded, GC.

Here's what I have so far:
2017 GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO E 4X4
Powertrain
3.6-Liter V6 24-Valve VVT Engine with ESS $0
8-Speed Paddle-Shift Automatic Transmission $0
3.45 Rear Axle Ratio $0
GVW Rating - 6,500 Pounds $0
Normal Duty Suspension $0
Colors & Interiors
Cloth Low-Back Bucket Seats $0
Black Interior Color $0
Diamond Black Crystal Pearl-Coat Exterior Paint $0
Packages
Security and Convenience Group $1,350
Trailer Tow Group IV $495
Exterior Appearance Group by Mopar® $895
All Weather Trail Rated Package $1,695
18-Inch Wheel and 8.4-Inch Radio Group $1,795
Options
Exterior
18-Inch x 8-Inch Satin Silver Aluminum Wheels --
265/60R18 BSW All Season All Terrain Tires --
Interior
Uconnect® 8.4 --
NET PRICE $41,070

I can't believe you can build a Laredo that exceeds $40,000. For that price, I was hoping I'd have a GC with leather seats, HID's, sunroof, dual exhaust, upgraded stereo, and navigation. I guess I could always turn to the aftermarket down the road for all of those options, or just go Limited, but still... Does anyone know if any of those options are planned for the Laredo model in the future?

Sorry for the long winded post. I just felt like sharing my thoughts and hoping to read some feedback.

Thanks again.

I highly doubt it. The content (or lack thereof) is what differentiates the models. If they all had the same option availability there'd be no reason to offer them.

And as you've already found out, you wouldn't be able to touch one equipped like that for the build price you came up with anyway.

You could save some by buying a left over '16 or '15?

Hey, thanks for the tip. I'll check it out. The Charger R&T is a hell of a car. I've done some minor upgrades as well (Scat Pack wheels, SRT lowering springs, etc.), and I love my car. Just looking into the future.

Understandable. I'm curious what the Altitude IV package will bring. Look back at that package, besides it appearing more street oriented, as opposed to off-road oriented, it brought with it the additional options that I'm interested on top of the Laredo trim level. At least I have time on my side. I'm in no hurry.

I built a Limited and it came out to be $45,815. I suppose if you're spending over $40,000, what's another $4K-ish to add the other options, right? haha I'm not crazy about the chrome bits on the Limited trim though.
