X2. Get a '16 and that would make it easier to carry over your negative equity.

At least I have time on my side. I'm in no hurry.

I built a Limited and it came out to be $45,815. I suppose if you're spending over $40,000, what's another $4K-ish to add the other options, right? haha I'm not crazy about the chrome bits on the Limited trim though.
As mentioned above, you could check out Koon's or look for a 15/16 HA. The 16 HA is killer.

While I love the '17 Trailhawk, I'm not so sure I can afford a $45,000 SUV purchase. Using the link to the 2017 "Build & Price" page, I've put together, what I believe, is a very nice, well rounded, GC.
If you go to WK2Jeeps.com with the information from the car you built, you will be able to see the 'invoice' prices. They are lower than the MSRP you get from the Jeep website.

Then, if you are in a position where you can buy from Koons in Virginia you can take 7% off that for most Jeeps and 5% off those considered Specialty.

I ordered a Summit from them, currently sitting in a railroad yard an hour and a half away. My savings which include Jeeps $750 rebate are 8.6% off invoice, or 13% off sticker. Instead of the $750, Chrysler has a schedule of low financing rates starting at 0% for three years.

Thank you for the information. I'll check it out and work on the numbers. I really appreciate it. Maybe the Trailhawk is closer to a reality than I originally thought.

I guess I could always turn to the aftermarket down the road for all of those options, or just go Limited, but still... .
Keep in mind that while you can certainly go aftermarket for many things, you cannot do that for the sound/entertainment system. There are exactly...zero...available options for MY14+ for aftermarket head units because the system is so fully integrated into the vehicle computer system. It's not just a "radio". So at the very least, you'll want to include the 8.4 system in your buy. You can upgrade speakers and amps, but not the head unit.

That said, I'll echo Scott....check out the Koons Group Buy at 7% below invoice less any available FCA incentives. There's a separate forum area here for that including contacts. It can be absolutely worth the one-way cost to get to northern VA to sign for and drive home your new JGC.

That's it, but I don't believe a lower profile works OK on any soft surface. They look great, handle better on dry pavement, and give you a fantastic feel of the road. Trail Ready? Not so much.

Jeep Search New Inventory Based on Zip Code

Is there a way to search for nearby 2017's? The links on jeeps site only seem to include 2015's and 16's.

Not yet. Although you can build a 2017 by changing the date in the url [not my discovery] when you hit the find button it reverts back to the build page.

Chrysler does have pretty good filters on their dealer sites. Though it could take some time, you could check the closest dealers to you. In my area there are fewer than a dozen 2017 Grand Cherokees. In the DC area there are hundreds.

I'm hoping there will be room enough to go with a slightly taller and wider tire. If so, I will eventually get some aftermarket 20 inch wheels. Of course, a taller tire will mean recalibrating the speedometer.

From what I can gather, you can run a 275/65/18 and use a 255/70/18 as a spare....will fit in spare tire area and the access floor door will close. Or you can use a 265/65/18....some has very minimal rubbing with the 275/65/18 seemed like it depended on how wide the tread face/sidewall tread was.

The SPEEDO/ODO cannot be recalibrated normally...dealer can't do it, for example. There is only one size entry in the vehicle computer and that's for the OEM ~30.6" Some folks have been able to do it with the Diablo Tuner, but that's a pretty big chunk of change.

Don't forget you need to change the spare, too, if you upsize...it must be the same diameter as whatever you're running on the four corners. It can be narrower, as the factory spare is, but it has to be the same diameter.

BTW, you can go wider and taller with the 18" wheels that come on the vehicle, too...wheel diameter doesn't matter there. If you're going "really wide", you may need different wheels, however.

Dang! I didn't know this unit couldn't be recalibrated. I was led to believe that it could be recalibrated just like the Wrangler. That puts a different spin on things.
