Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Are there any FCA vehicles on the street with Carplay and Android Auto up and running?

Pinch to zoom is not needed for the core functionally of CarPlay. 95% of the UI navigation is touch and go so that's really not a valid reason. CarPlay also uses your iOS devices hardware such as RAM, CPU and graphics processing chips. The main thing needed on the head unit is more RAM due to higher resolution display and the minimal resources required to run the CarPlay GUI layed over the existing Uconnect one.

Can it be installed on ththe existing unconnect systems? I have no doubt that it could,. It's just a matter of time after the new head unit is released with CarPlay and android auto that someone modifies the coding to get it to work on the older systems, dumbed down and not looking as good of course.

The other option is to just get an Apple TV and mirror your phone to it.

Hey Milous

Any updates on the Trailhawk 20" wheels? Dealer says they know nothing, Chrysler says they know nothing. Discontinued, late availability? Wk2jeeps shows a part number but searching that number results in nothing.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Milous answered that very recently. You can search his recent posts.

In short, fugetaboutit!

I don't recall the GC with off road 2 ever being paired with 20's, at least not from the factory. I think the original listing was a typo.

Don't think it was a typo initially; the Trailhawk was shown at NYIAS with the standard 18" wheels and optional 20" wheels.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Anyone know if the requirement for the addition of Active Safety and Blind Spot when selecting LUX II will be removed in the future? I know this was briefly discussed regarding the Trailhawk, but it looks like it applies to the Limited as well.
