Plus that twin turbo is really enticing. Is it being tested in any other vehicles now?
It would be cool if they tweaked the current gen GC body style to accommodate the new engine's. I think we'll see a lot of influence of this generation GC in the next gen.

That's somewhat of an assumption, of course. The new Compass seems to reflect JGC a lot more than the Cherokee, so I think that bodes well for styling for MY19 JGC. I'm with Scooter' on that point. That said, we'll not know what they are thinking about relative to "look" for quite a while still...

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Reposting this question as it got no traction (4wd or otherwise) the first time:

Is the increased suspension travel and "bump cushion" on the Trailhawk any different than the "Normal Duty Suspension - Increased Travel" that comes in the ORAII package on other 2017 models?

It appears so, if you build one you can click the "Normal Duty Suspension - Increased Travel" option under the powertrain tab, and it asks if you want to add the ORII package.

I don't believe there's any difference with the Trailhawk than the others with the ORA II. You should be able to get all the same off-road options capabilities in the Limited/Overland as the Trailhawk. The Trailhawk difference is that its standard and it has different paint schemes and trims do to it being a different model.

The only thing that could be different with the Trailhawk is:
"Inside, Trailhawks have a black interior with leather and suede seats, red accent stitching, a gun-metal finish on all painted interior parts, and a standard 8.4-inch Uconnect touch screen. This has updated off-road pages showing wheel articulation, suspension height, 4x4 and Selec-Terrain modes, and such".

The off-road pages in the Uconnect is what I'm referring to unknown is, if the others with ORAII have this.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I was under the impression that the trailhawk had 1" more travel on the suspension than any of the other model lineup (thus making it more of an offroad capable vehicle)

Yes, I heard that too, I believe in one of the youtube "Tails of the Trailhawk" videos. The link above to the ALLPAR page says its the same although it is a little dated. I read somewhere else that's its .4 inches more ground clearance with better wheel articulation. I'm not sure what the truth is???

The bump-stops on the shock absorber piston shafts were decreased in length by .4" to allow for greater wheel travel.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

According to the 2017 user guide on Jeep.com there is now a setting in Uconnect to auto fold the power folding mirrors. Can anyone with a 2017 confirm or deny this?

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

It's confirmed. I don't have a 2017 but I replied to someone else's post specifically about that feature.

I can't remember if they auto fold in park or when the car is turned off, but either way it is automatic
