Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Agreed, John, although for many consumers, loan rates are not next to nothing because of their credit scores. Too many folks also have no savings, so the down payment for a purchase via loan gives challenges. The auto industry is surely taking advantage of this and continues to push the lease to move more new vehicles. A lot of those consumers don't realize the restrictions on mileage and condition, either...they don't actually read the paperwork. Their bad...

Leasing isn't "bad"...but I'm not sure it's good that it's pushed so hard while also being misunderstood by too many. Or maybe that's why it's pushed so hard...

Your not taking into consideration the real world depreciation hit as well. When the 19s come out redesigned consumers will want what's perceived as new.

If you can fit in a lease criteria where it's beneficial it's your best bet over the next 3 years going jeep

Buy or lease, it's a gamble. If the '19 models roll off the line relatively trouble free it could have the used market bulging with trade ins. If they have a major mis-step, people could be looking for late model used Jeeps.

I hope they do it right, even if it does affect the value of my vehicle.

Is there not buy vs lease threads? This a never ending topic with too many variables and opinions on a 2017 feature and changes thread lol

Yeah, but now that the 17's have been on the road a while the features and changes have already been beat to death.

I have the issue of wanting to see/drive a '17 (especially a Trailhawk) but not wanting to deal with a salesperson.

Good point.

I was just thinking that in 2,600 posts every new feature would have been discussed at least a few times. There may very well be some new variations on the export models.

I think it is a real shame they keep you folks waiting so long. With cars being built and transported all around the world these days you would think Jeep could come up with a better solution.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

It's Jeep Australia that's stuffing us around, and they did it in 2014 as well, a few years ago the GC was the best selling SUV in Australia, but because of the way Jeep Australia treat customers, 3 to 6 month wait if you order, not take a GC off a lot, parts can be a 6 month wait as well
If it wasn't such a good vehicle, and if there was something in the Australian market that had the same features for a similar price point I'd walk away
But there's not, so here we wait for Jeep Australia to pull their finger out

My 2014 Overland has that! They will also unfold when I start to drive away, if I forgot to do that! I love the Red Velvet paint, but those rims? They must be a b*tch to clean . . .

We have used the auto car washes about three times and each time the wheels come out looking great, so I haven't needed to bother with them yet.

They do get a lot of compliments, just not from the off-road types.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I never thought I would want to own a red vehicle but that Velvet Red looks incredible. Seriously contemplating that color choice for my next JGC. How do you like it, hdrolling?
