It will also boil down to lease numbers. When I checked the last time, the R Design had the better numbers.

In General, MY17 is a great year for auto enthusiasts. As I said...decisions, decisions...

I'm hoping for the leather dash and the auto pilot 2 for 2017. That might just get me to jump over. I'm a techie and a designer. The XC90 is full of technology and one of the best looking SUVs in the market inside and out.

On the other hand I've been a Jeep guy since I started driving. Part of me hopes Jeep steps it up for 2017 if they do a refresh. The 75th did not impress me.

Funny - that pretty much sums it up for me as well.

Don't even joke about that. I have a D750 and Nikon keeps announcing "service advisories" for it. Soon enough, it'll have as many "service advisories" as my '14 has had recalls!

I'm not sure where you got this information but the lease deals on the XC90 are total crap. They are the reason I just ordered an X5 M Sport instead. And I'm not the only one that thinks this, edmunds leasing forums and the Volvo forums both speak of poor residuals and no deals for leasing. It sucks, I really wanted an R Design but from reading.. They are junk and have a ton of kinks to be worked out. And there are features such as memory seats that don't work, it's an update to come later. People feel the vehicle was rushed to the market and it's obvious it was after doing any research. After knowing this, no way would I pay MSRP for it. On top of that, the Volvo service dept's diagnostic systems hardly work with the XC90, their equipment is so out of date compared to the new platform.

Only for earlier production runs, even with the latest one. Most of us with D750s are unaffected. The MY14 JGC issues are parallel...the majority of problems are on earlier releases of the "refreshed" vehicle, particularly for drivetrain software/firmware.

No D5 for you? But yea, a lot of folks are wanting the D500 to take advantage of the lower weight and crop factor for wildlife and sports. It's a nice product and so many people have been waiting for a D300 successor.

I was comparing the lease quotes of the R Design to those of the Inscription.

I was reading the forum as well and I'm not surprised that the brand new model has issues. That's why I wouldn't touch a MY16 in the first place. However there are also many owners reporting no issues at all and how satisfied they are with their vehicle and they haven't paid full MSRP either. the T8 still sells for full MSRP but there are several folks who already got $4K off on a T6.

I would be getting an XC90 in about 13 months and by then, I'm pretty confident that the lease-numbers (which I got from the website) and the majority of kinks would have been worked out.

There are many interesting vehicles out there these days. A Black Label Lincoln MKX, for example, has an MSRP of $63K. Considering the service and features you get with that vehicle, it's a very attractive alternative, too.

Right now I have a D4s and a D300 + a couple more. After Easter Sunday I will only have the D4s as the rest are going to my niece's kids.

If I had known the D500 was coming, I would have been happy with a D500 and a D810, and would still have a few bucks in my pocket.

To stay focused. Have they started spraying Ivory Tri Coat?

All vehicles are rushed to market instead of spending R&D money to get it right the first time. The manufacturers figure they just want to get the vehicle out there, then they will address the bugs that will certainly develop.
The 2014 WK2 was certainly done this way.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Just wondering if the 2017 GC Summit/Overland will be shown at the upcoming New York auto show in late March?

I keep going back and forth between ordering a MY16 and MY17... Given that I wanted luxury brown color (production start Apr 21), I haven't ordered yet... but keep thinking I may as well wait for a MY17 given that the MY16 would be a year old by the time I get it delivered and on the road...

Not to mention the 17 will get the lane keeping assist and parking assist that the 16 doesn't have.
