Nice try, but come on, it's a Chrysler product. The lack of quality is built in before the name goes on it. Didn't Lee Iacocca say that when he was in charge of Chrysler?

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Guys, any hope the 2017 will come with more modern gear shifter. I love my 14 style and never had any issues, but understand some people from the VCR and flip-flop phones era a little confused. They would be confused for sure with park assist and all other new technology, so I really hope the 2016 clunk style was a quick fix for them. Looking to get a second Overland for my wife 2017 model. Drove the 16 yesterday and no way we can leave with the new style. Please give me some good news before I start looking other brands

How much more modern do you want the shifter to get? The '16 is about as simple and intuitive as shifters come.

Start looking if it's for you. But if it is for your wife, maybe you should consult her first. She might think there are more important features than the style of the shifter.

Actually 16 is step back in the 80's, mechanical feel compared to the design and electronic feel of the 14's. I like the sport mode on the shifter and actually use it often when I need to get quick jump of the line without taking my eyes of the road to look for a small button on the dash! Yellow light on the 16 is no match to the other blue lighting. Rotary style like the Chrysler 300 or Durango make no sense to me too. Guess people are different, but all luxury vehicle's on the market have something similar to the 14-15 style. Give them the PARK button and call end of the day.

Actually she was going to take my 2014, and I will use the 2017. She doesn't like the new 16 too. I care less for park assist, car play, line departure, start-stop. Need the HEMI, QD2 and Harman stereo, .....and no clunk on the shifter!

No, that's just the number of smiley faces I had time for... and I didn't have time for that.

Guys, I just REALLY like what I see.

I'm currently saving money for a 2018. Period. Yes I know the next gen is due for 2019, but I want one ASAP. I'll just have to go through Flipper Glass withdrawal.

Guess I'll just use my KK if I need flipper glass.

Don't know if this is posted anywhere else but are there any new color choices for 17?

If you're going to get hung up on a shifter then you better start looking at other brands, the Jeep is not for you.

In 20 minutes the new car for your wife became a new car for you.

Are you a politician by any chance?
