Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

to each their own but Max Steel is one of the most boring and uninspiring colors i have seen on a vehicle. I would take any any color over that one. Just to vanilla.

That is what I wanted too was a true darker gray metallic but then when I started looking I realized jeeps version of black isn't black (or the flat black I think of) its black metallic charcoal or what ever you want to call it. max steel is dark gray metallic with a touch of blue, granite is dark gray metallic with a touch of brown, black crystal is dark gray metallic with black mixed. They are all nice but how about a straight dark gray metallic Id take that also. For now jeeps version of black is close enough to it though.

Well I've lived with a black Yukon for the last twelve years; I guess I can live with a black Jeep for the next twelve. But - - dang.

You two need to stop looking at these colors under the fluorescent lights of your local drive in root beer stands.

So true! For example, Max Steel is one of the best colors. But, only between 10 am and 2 pm on a bright sunny day.

I agree they are all three great colors but the light they are in can make a big difference in how these metallics look. I went back and forth a lot between Granite metallic and Black Crystal ball metallic or what ever it is when I was buying

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Maximum Steele looks too purple/blue for my taste. IMO I don't think my granite looks brown at all and I'm constantly getting compliments on it, especially compared to my last white one. And people usually refer to my jeep being gray or blue.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I always wanted the true blue color grand cherokee. When I finally got the chance to see it the lighting made it look purple. Completely ruined it for me. In certain light though its still one of my favorite colors (dont tell my jeep that)

It would be nice since the ones they currently use are old and can't be calibrated, but then that would dig into Sergio's retirement account, so that won't happen.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Even my Winter Chill Pearlcoat looks very different in varying light conditions...it's the nature of automotive paint, especially when there's pearl or flake involved. And, of course, color choices are very subjective decisions. What floats one person's boat makes another person gag...
