Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Back when I was doing serious photography I figured out that the color balance of my left eye is a little different from my right. Don't notice it any more, but I guess I'll have to try each eye separately on the Granite Crystal.

Yes, they are. FCA paint has far more metallic in it than others so they're a real light shifter. What I notice about the Granite is that when you look down the side of the vehicle under certain lighting conditions, the high metallic content is so overwhelming that it actually makes the paint look like a semi-gloss. Sounds weird but I can't explain it better than that. While I like the Granite I actually preferred the less metallic Mineral Gray from a few years ago.

But when you get your color under the right light or lighting angle it's like, wow!

Actually she was going to take my 2014, and I will use the 2017. She doesn't like the new 16 too. I care less for park assist, car play, line departure, start-stop. Need the HEMI, QD2 and Harman stereo, .....and no clunk on the shifter!

In 20 minutes the new car for your wife became a new car for you.

Are you a politician by any chance?
Yes, how hard is to understand. She needs new ride, that's why I'm getting new one and she takes the '14. Business pays for it, so I have to drive the new one....I see you have 14 also. Maybe you are one of the confused ones??? The shifter actually is one of my favorite futures. It looks modern and different from most other cars. Also very easy to use. I still have my toy truck 2004 Overland. The shifter on the 2016 clicks like the 2004, just have newer plastic. No way I will take it after trying the 14 style. This is something that I will be looking and use every time I drive. I care less about park assist for example. One future that I never will be using. By the way how the people confused with shifter will be able to use this type advanced futures?

I wouldn't buy the car because of the shifter as well. The new shifter is horrible. A huge step back. It's an eye sore. No way I can live with that every single day.

...and yet another never-ending argument about the new vs old shifter begins...

Can the mod start a shifter sticky for people to debate there instead?

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

It is still little better than the rotary switch on the Durango and 300, but definitely out of style. I was even looking to get SRT one and get it replaced by the dealer. SRT one has perforated leather and looks better. But why??? ...........New Jaguar F-PACE SUV looks really nice. Does anyone here knows more about it?

Not at all hard to understand. It's just not what you said.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I'm looking into the new F pace as well. There is an auto show this week in Dallas in which the F pace will be on display. I fully plan on going and checking it out.

The only concern with the F pace is how quickly the cost will get up to the premium levels. Want ACC? Add $2500. Want air cooled front seats? Add $2500, Etc etc. jeeps really are a great bargain for the amount of tech and features that you get.

I noticed it on the car show too. It was an S model (sport). Very nice inside and out. Very high quality materials. Comes with 6 cyl supercharged engine from a Land Rover. I guess it starts at 40K MSRP and with all options like Overland gets to 55K MSRP. Now no one pays MSRP, so I guess it is very close to Overland with HEMI after negotiation . Jeep is definately better bargain. That's why I got one with life time warranty! But the engineers are not looking into the small details. I can start with the ugly filler plates under the head lights, missing LED tail lights and get to the shifter now. If they are after Corrola costumers (like one person I know that is very happy with her new Toyota because radio is now showing who is singing ?????) we can loose, or not get other fancy futures. Not to mention that the Jeep dealer I have used for years is scaring me now. My older 04 Overland was at least six times there in the last month. Changed 4 different steering pumps and one water pump because of leaks in the very next day.You guys have no idea how they sent me home twice. How I can trust them to work on my new Jeep? They are big liability- I am driving my kids in the truck.
Sorry guys, looks like I needed to vent....Please don't give me some s***t.
