I am hoping this isn't what the production version will look like. They went from black below the headlights, which looked better IMO, to black ALL AROUND the grill. Wtf that looks stupid.

Have there been any changes structurally? To make it perform better in crash tests, such as the IIHS Small Overlap..

To each their own - I think it looks great not having that cheap plastic filler under the lights now and the overall front end looks much more uniform. Think you bagged on the interior too saying it looked dated. Look at a 2016 Infiniti QX70 and you will get a better understanding of what a dated interior looks like

I doubt it. It is a design refresh, not a new model so I doubt any significant structural changes were made. Those will be done in the 2019 model year.

Maybe the grill will be color matched on the California edition?

Those fog light openings are longer and thinner then the current summit. I bet the current SRT LED fog lights are sitting in there. They probably would not have changed it like that and then just left it halogen.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Feeling somewhat vindicated now about what the 2017's will or won't look like, and the upper models do look Very nice indeed ! But as pointed out on occasion, any "look" is a personal subjective matter and I agree . Perhaps some of the members can shed some light, for us not so well off, on the Laredo's and Limited's in the Lineup ? Knowing now what we do about 2017, I am now inclined to look less at the Cherokee (I was "monitoring it here and elsewhere for awhile) . I want & need an off road capable (off road adventure 1, if still available on '17's?) - prefer the Laredo E, if that is what they will call it ! Not a bells & whistles type and (to me) Leather though very nice, has its drawbacks in a long term ownership . I know this because I have 2 very nice quality leather chairs at home with 6 years light and easy use ! Wish there were better (any really) coverage on the Laredo and Limited, here or anywhere for that matter . That is all please . Hopefully there can be some nice responses about the model(s) I referenced . ps; keep up the great detective work, and a shoutout to Jalopnik for questionable integrity ?.
