Most here seem more interested in the color options and luxuries in this (base model) $$$52,000.00 Jeep - assuming the base model with the Penta v6. Always the skeptic, I often wonder why "they" make such vehicles. IT won't be a "big seller".

So, how many of YOU - members here that is - are seriously considering this G.Cherokee Trailhawk for purchase? And, will it see any serious (as the build suggests) offroad use?

Off roading, trail rating, trail hawking . . . by any other name usually turns out being most like mall crawling, which is absolutely just fine, but full disclosure - not for me.

My 50+ Grand would be better served - IF I were seeking to go off road & do things out their more than once a year on holiday - with a 38 Grand Laredo OR1 and 12 Grand on perhaps a rooftop tent+ or an offload teardrop trailer . . . !

SO, What do You plan to do with Your 2017 G.C. Trailhawk, and how do you plan to Build it?

ps; all this of course assuming I had the 50+ Grand, which I do not, but luckily I do have all my camping and fly fishing gear we could need "out there"! I am much closer to pulling the yes lever on a $38-$40 G on that good old basic (worthy off road) 2017 Laredo E w/OR1 and some decent rubber on 17's.
If it comes with the Hemi? I would have waited on my Overland purchase 6 months ago if I knew the TrailHawk was coming out. That said I looked for any thing new or different & not finding it so Im not to upset. I understand the Jeep brand is not about being off road anymore but that is what the brand was built on. I think they take a long term risk when ignoring it.

How far ahead of order banks do pricing sheets usually show up online?

After, not before.

Where are you getting 52k? Is this really going to be that high up there price wise?

There are a lot of folks that have been waiting for this Trailhawk for years now and it will likely be very much in demand. I think you are very mistaken about your perception relative to cost being a deterrent, too. Consider just how many JGCs are built in a day (800-900 or so) and how many of them are well equipped Limited, Overland and Summit trim levels, all of which cluster around that $50K mark. (in general) My prediction is that every Trailhawk produced will be sold and sold quickly.

Clearly "you" can be very satisfied by the Laredo E and that's absolutely a valid choice. But there are plenty of folks who want Overland, High Altitudes, Trailhawks and Summits. The market is large and JGC is about the best seller on the market in it's price range including at the top end of the trim levels.

And to be fair, Trailhawk isn't for "me", either. It's nice to have choices!

Very well stated Jim! I've had two Overlands hovering around the $45k mark and am now looking to move up to the $50k Summit. I had 2 H3's prior to Hummer going bust that got the off-road bug out of me, so now I'm at the point where lux is what drives my purchases and you just about can't beat the value of the GC for what you get compared to an Audi, BMW or Infiniti. Cross shopped the X3, Q5 and QX70, but couldn't get over spending several thousand more for a vehicle just to have the lux badge.

This is very true. I suspect here, every Trailhawk will sell as well. Also, I think it depends on market. A quick glance at our local dealers page for 2016 GC's shows 6 Laredos, 47 Limiteds, 24 Overlands and 3 Summits. I don't see a whole lot of Laredos out on the road, and I used to have one. I don't think a whole lot of people here are looking at them, and once you start adding options, the cost gets pretty close to a Limited. I upgraded to a '14 Limited pretty quick, 13 months after buying the '12 Laredo, with my 2016 being a loaded 75th Limited - the only thing I don't have on mine is Advanced Tech. I considered an Overland, since the cost of mine got pretty damn close, but, I liked the 75th looks better and the only thing I would have "gained" was the HK audio.
