Two words...Marketing dept...the auto world is stuck in a "versioning" marketing world partly from the past and partly from the obvious manufacturing efficiences....they are producing SRT's with half black window trim and half chrome trim and you want to throw 1 of 1 manufacturing at them....uh, no thanks at present QC level but in time we will all be able to personalize our transport pods.

...because they want you to pay up for an SRT. Adding them yourself would be cheaper than any package if you do your homework.

I guess you are saying that BMW doesn't know what they are doing by offering real M model and M packages. I am sure they are making even more money because there are buyers for all the options. BMW are not making big changes with years and people are still buying. Jeep doesn't need to make changes every one or two years. Recent model was pretty good - clean and stylish and sells good. All we need is an more options to build it the way we want it to make it personal. But factory build so you can actually keep the value when decide to sell it. BMW actually will give you a tour in the NC factory so you can see where your toy was born!

I mean you cant expect a manufacturer to have like 15 models of the same vehicle, or be able to select items so specific such as which brakes or steering wheel are on it. I think Jeep actually does a pretty good job offering a lot of different models to make everyone happy. Look at the High Altitude! People like myself loved the idea of the Altitude, but wanted all the features of the higher end models. And Jeep delivered and offered the High Altitude edition based off the Summit/Overland. Not only that, but the High Altitude is kinda sort of what you're talking about. Even though it doesn't offer any of the performance of the SRT, it does have the more aggressive styling of the SRT, and like MOFSTEEL said the items you mentioned could very easily be added. Infact I have even thought about that if my HA had SRT steering wheel, SRT wheels/tires, maybe even the brakes, that would be one bad ass package. So I do see where you're coming from, but there has to be a point where they say ok enough is enough, is there really a market for the Overland High Altitude SRT Sport design model?

So retrofitting OEM parts after will lower the value? I'd have to disagree.

I've had an Audi S car and an sline so I know what you're saying but it's more fun and challenging when you build it yourself.

Sure AEV makes an optioned out JKU but why let someone else do all the fun modding?

I agree, it is fun to play with it. That's why I still have my WJ Overland. But the new one has the MaxCare and I would not want to start swapping parts on my own. It has to be done by the dealer. But i can't trust the dealer that will do the same perfect job like the factory. You know what I'm saying. HA is a step in the right direction. That's why I am hopping they will add a little more. It doesn't need to be a model, just an option we can order and choose like having a V6 or a HEMI. How many people have the HA already. I am sure if sport appearance package is available on the Overland more people will be interested. Just a suggestion....

I've swapped out many parts and have the MaxCare. Items swapped include appearance trim pieces, lighting, and even the radio. My dealership has no issues working on my JGC if needed. You might want to try a different dealership if you don't trust your current one.

Now if your swapping engines......that's a different story.

Because they want you to buy the SRT if you want those features.... ...and very few folks would opt for those kind of options. "Back in the day" vehicle manufacturers pretty much offered a very long list of options and you could build exactly what you want. Those days passed long ago and are not part of today's manufacturing environment. This isn't just a Jeep thing...it's the industry.
