So if I read correctly (feel free to correct), no Stop/Start for the CRD?

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist:

Features ultrasonic sensors on the front and rear fascias to find and guide the driver into a parking space once the turn signal is turned on and the system is activated by the driver.

• The system scans for available spaces that will accommodate the vehicle’s size and alerts the driver on the in-cluster display center when one is located.

• Once parking commences, the driver controls the brake, accelerator and shifter.

• The guidance system will control the steering angle and help parallel park or back into a perpendicular parking spot by providing driver instruction through the 7-inch customizable in-cluster display.

• If the system detects that a collision is imminent, an audible and visual warning alerts the driver while the system momentarily applies the brake.

2017 is certainly, by far, the final model year that solves the COMPLAINT CRISIS OF 2014!!!!!!!!

Even the parallel park, eh? Please just tell me they aren't going near the Hemi with the start/stop garbage. That is probably one of the only ways they could screw up my current choice for new car.

It would be great if they realized sport mode shouldn't be a button and instead be under D in the shifter, like a ton of other cars (even much lower end ones), and offer the summit model in more colors (why can't I get that nice blue??). But, all in all very much like the new features on the 17. They are certainly behind on the new cameras, but even if it wasn't 360, it would be great to add a front right/left camera since it is so high.

Awesome.... I am definitely waiting on the 2017 now.
GrayJeep, I completely agree on the sport button. I hold out hope for the shift because the park assist is controled by a button on the uconnect unit on the Cherokees currently. I pray that they put sport on the shifter to save the current sport button for park assist.

While it's possible, I seriously doubt that they would do anything that requires "real work" on the Hemi given it's likely in its last two model years in the JGC for MY17-18. The next generation platform for MY19 appears to going in a different direction with what's been posted so far.

That said, you can likely expect that start/stop will become defacto-standard for gasoline engines going forward as it contributes to meeting the fleet fuel economy standards that ramp higher and higher as time passes.

I could live with it as long as there is some way to turn it off, and I don't mean upon starting up the car *every* time.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Honestly, I expect the start/stop feature to get smoother and even less obtrusive/noticeable as time passes. But yes, it will be nice if folks have the option to disable if they prefer.

Funny you mentioned it - something about opening windows etc. came to my mind as well as since somebody posted 'waft'...

Maybe you can open the fixed rear side-windows now...

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

What do you guys think I can expect to pay for a 2017 if I order it? Am I just better waiting until I see them on the lots?

So for example right now the high altitude models are average sticker price of 46k in my area. Would it be the same if I ordered a 2017. I just have a feeling that when I go into the dealer and build the car it will come up to whatever price total and he will say he can only take 1k off or something.

Never bought a brand spanking new car so that part of its all new to me.
