Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Has it been confirmed that only the Trailhawk, SRT, and Summit models will get the new front end and grille shown at the auto show in NYC recently? Just wondering about the Laredo and Limited models for 2017.

Scott said Laredo, Limited, and Overland front ends should have similar changes on 2017s.

Sure enough the stupid headlight washers activate and spray washer fluid all over the front of my car. I actually kind of want to disable them lol.

I learned to avoid that happening by first turning the headlight knob to the off position.

No sign of this feature for the '17 Grand Cherokee, at least not at initial launch, still keeping an eye out for any info.

It will be very disappointing if it doesn't get Carplay or Android Auto. So many auto manufacturers are offering both platforms on comparable and lower end vehicles. The current Uconnect was head and shoulders above other systems when it debuted on MY14 but it seems like they are falling behind.

So you are saying the headlight washers will never activate if the headlight switch is in the off position? Or is it they will never activate if the headlights are off regardless if the headlight switch is in auto or off?

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

They will not operate if the headlights are off, regardless of switch position...I verified this during a snowy daytime mountain drive, my switch was in park with fogs on, and it would not wash headlights. Also wouldn't spray them in auto if the lights weren't on because it was too light out.

But if you leave your switch in auto, it will spray if the lights are on due to darkness.

Also, I counted and it's around every 10-11 sprays of the windshield, but does reset each time you turn the car off, causing it to spray headlights on first push of switch.

Personally, I wish they had made a dedicated switch just for the headlight sprayers...would make it much easier for all of us.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Hmmm... well I'll be a SOB. My 16's build sheet does list headlamp washer under optional equipment. I've never activated them to my knowledge but I'll have to give it a try.

I know they weren't listed on my 14 Overland.

Re: 2017 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Milious... Is it just the car play thats not listed as a 2017 feature or is the also the 4th gen uconnect system with higher resolution and capacitive touch screen thats also not listed? I ask because as long as the hardware is there I would think car play could get added later as a flash, but if its still the 3rd gen uconnect thats a much bigger deal.
