2017 Limited: Thoughts & Pics

So while on a business trip to Memphis, I got a chance to rent a 2017 Limited with LuxII! I was the first renter of the vehicle, fresh off of prep from the rental agency. It had 7 miles on the odometer when I got it.

It's a Granite Crystal with the V6.

I really like the exterior of the '17s. The grille stands out a little more aggressively, the bumper folds into the headlights like it should have beginning from the '14s (not with that stupid honeycomb piece Jeep used for a few years!), and the dark smoke lenses on the headlights really compliment the vehicle.

Jeep even re-did the "Grand Cherokee" logo on the front doors. I like it!

The 8.4AN still doesn't have Android Auto/iOS CarPlay, and it doesn't look to have a 4G phone (still has the 3G logo), but overall its faster and more responsive.

The interior seems to be largely unchanged from the '16s I drove. Auto Stop-Start seems to have improved a bit; I didn't notice the bump that I felt in the '16s when it restarted after taking your foot off the brake.

Only thing it's missing is Advanced Tech, or I'd drive it home and never give it back.

Couple pics attached.

Happy Jeeping!

What car rental agency were you using? That's a pretty great rental vehicle to get.

The OP surprised me. I thought he was going to end with, I took it home so don't tell them where I live.

Sweet!
I saw one of these up close at the dealership the other day. I really like the front end.

That's how I was turned on to the Grand Cherokee. Had one as a rental in SLC and liked it so much when I got home I bought one.

What exactly do you mean "dark smoke lenses"? As far as I know headlights remain unchanged, right?

I notice that the headlight bulbs, not the lenses, look dark when the sun isn't hitting them. I first noticed it when the car was in my driveway half in shadow. I thought I had a burned out right headlight. As the sun went down and the entire front of the car was in shadow they both looked dark, and neither was burned out.

I'm guessing that is what was meant.

Granite is a nice color, had it on my 2014. I also had dark charcoal and black on my previous Jeeps and cars. I switched to Billet Silver for my 2017 to try something different/lighter color and love it. Both great colors.

I rented one from Enterprise several years ago and Hertz has been known to have a few.
