Anyone that has received their Jeep did you get Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist? Have you used it yet if so how well does it work?

Re: 2017 Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist

Yes I have tried it.

It worked fine.

Remember it only steers. You select gear, gas and brake.

It will only park between two cars (both Perpendicular and Parallel).

You turn it on BEFORE you are near your spot.
It defaults to Parallel (1 click on OK button switches it to perpendicular).

Then you drive until it beeps at you to stop and you put it in reverse.

It always backs into Perpendicular spots.

On our test drive with the dealer my wife played with this for about half an hour, works as explained above. I don't think it's anything I would ever use, but you never know.

Ok, so there has to be a car on BOTH sides the system will not use the lines to park? This parking system would be primarily used by my wife in a parking garage so would the system Maybe be satisfied with a car on one side and a concrete column on the other?

I don't know. But I tend to doubt it.

You can ask in the Cherokee Forum because they have had the feature longer and I believe it's the same. You might find some YouTube videos too.
