That's the 75th Anniversary GC, but I'll bet that the rest of the models get the same refresh.

That's the 75th Anniversary Edition for MY16. There is speculation that this fascia might also go into the MY17 vehicles, but no confirmation so far from the insiders.

Re: 2017 refresh

I think I like the 14+ front end more. In that 75th facia, they made the grill part of the bumper and squashed the 7 slot grill openings. I think it looks bland and cheaper.

I'm with you on that. They should have just updated the lower grille, removed the filler piece under the headlamps but left the overall shape the same. Something about the headlamp / upper grille seems out of proportion. But it could just be the renderings though.

Would be interesting to see what the summit / SRT looks like with that grille.

If they put that grille on the Summit, then they would have to redesign the front bumper fascia for the headlight washers. That could get expensive, so doubt the Summit would get that grille. Which to me is fine since I don't like the 75th anniversary grille. But I do like the black window mouldings.

Looking at the spy shots posted earlier, the exports have the washers visible on some of the shots. I like the direction they are headed with the new front, it just feels like a first draft. Then again that was how I felt about the 14s and now I have one.

Re: 2017 refresh

I don't care for the lower surround... it looks ho-hum and lost it's aggressiveness.

Re: 2017 refresh

Thank you Scott for not letting this thread slip into a cheap financial course.

I'm closing in on 100k miles on my '14 Overland and promised my father I'd give it to him and buy a new one this year. But with this new generation pushed another two years I was hoping this '17 refresh would be worth the change but it seems not... not sure I wanna drive another 100k in the same vehicle so I'm a bit screwed. I've looked elsewhere but always end up with a 10-15k more expensive tab if I check all the boxes for the options I have in my Jeep. Help!

Please do not talk to me about a Ford Explorer (or any Ford) , I will block you

Re: 2017 refresh

With the miles you're putting on, just buy a MY16 or MY17...you'll want to turn it over when the MY19s are out and have a few months to "percolate" anyway. You know you will...

I can't do anything but agree with what Jim said. Get the 16 or 17 and come back to the 19s.... your father will like the 16/17 just as much when you give it to him with 100k on it.
