Redline Red is only offered on the Trailhawk, although there is a "Redline Red 2" listed for the SRT.

Re: 2017 Trailhawk reviews, let's hear em!

Got my 2017 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk two week ago today. Very pleased to have my dream vehicle. I have wanted a Grand Cherokee since the 1993 made its debut. I took it on a 3-hour trail ride in north Georgia last Saturday. Rained the whole way. Zero wheel spin or problems with traction even with stock tires in the mud or on the rocks. Used OR-2 setting for the suspension. No trouble with ground clearance. I like the Off-Road pages app.

Did you find a redline? I bought one a few weeks ago, but didn't realized they were so hard to find. I tried finding velvet red, and saw two in the southeast.

Re: 2017 Trailhawk reviews, let's hear em!

Just purchased a TrailHawk and picking it up Tuesday. Traded my 14 Limited.
White with Lux package, blind spot, adaptive cruise, Nav.
MSRP 49255
I got 1% under invoice
and then 2000$ in rebates

Felt Like I got a good deal. Can't wait for the upgrade and to feel the difference
Already have appoitments for window tint and front pain protection wrap. Will also be installing EURO rear fog lights, and new speakers. Eventually will get rock sliders and new tires.

I would like to know about the European fog lights. Where do you get the kit, and is the wiring already in place so you can do it yourself?

Re: 2017 Trailhawk reviews, let's hear em!

So I figured I'd offer an update, as it has been around 8 months and 11k miles since my purchase. The only changes I've made to the car has been tinting the front windows and windshield.

Thus far, I am basically 97% pleased with the car. The winter fuel economy was a bit rough coming out of a Cherokee, but certainly not unexpected and/or a deal breaker for the truck. It is SUPREMELY comfortable on the many road trips I have taken, and I have become extremely spoiled by the air suspension. The engine has excellent power delivery, and the transmission is GENERALLY seamless (see below for more details). Sound system and all the creature comforts have been great, but I am not really an audiophile or "techie", so perhaps my option is rather worthless on these things. Overall, the car has been extremely solid and my wife and I look forward to many more miles it with.

Now...for the negatives. Obviously, no good review would omit these, so here it goes:
- You CAN occasionally catch the transmission "sleeping". Now, I should mention the ZF8 is LIGHTYEARS better than the ZF9 in the Cherokee in terms of overall operation and "intelligence", but once in a while...some of the "gaps" in software DO show. For example...in normal mode, if you are cruising at highway speed and wish to make an aggressive overtake, a quick jab of the throttle with often result in a seriously VIOLENT downshift. This is NOT consistent with other ZF8 experiences I've had in other cars (my BMW, Audis, etc). I think it really comes down to Jeep specific programming, as the hardware for the ZF8 is pretty similar across multiple manufacturers. The car does not exhibit this behavior in sport mode, as it is "primed" for a rapid downshift. Nonetheless, it can be a bit disconcerting.
- My specific car has a bit of a wind noise issue. It is specifically localized at the drivers side A pillar, and occurs at highway speeds. I have discovered that it ONLY occurs at ambient temps of 50*F or less, so it must be a tolerance/weatherstripping issue. As I live in the Midwest, I am torn whether I should pursue this issue...the car is only a lease, and primarily driven by my wife (who either cannot hear it, or does not care). My fear would be that any dealer attempting to repair the issue would simply make it worse, so I will likely just live with it.

I hope the above observations are helpful to owners and/or prospective owners, and look forward to more miles with the car.
