Question 3.6L Flex Fuel - November 22, 2010

It has that the 3.6L will be Flex Fuel - November 22, 2010 on the delayed features post
Does anyone know if it is a different engine or just an add-on or what
is different?

I hope it turns out that I can get it in case gas goes up again. I know that MPG average wise gas has to go up more for e85 to be cheaper $ to MPG but guess for the life of the jeep it will go up again.

I'm in D1 now but thinking may not get it since I went D1 last week and they started E85 this week but still have hopes up.

Re: 3.6L Flex Fuel - November 22, 2010

It's a state by state thing. Apparently the earlier production ones are E85-capable, but in some states they didn't quite have the emissions qualifications for Jeep to say so.

There's another thread on here about it.

My mid-Sept. build V-6 has a yellow gas cap that says E-85 capable, so it isn't just a new thing.

Re: 3.6L Flex Fuel - November 22, 2010

When ordering I insisted that I want to have the E85 option and a confirmation message popped up on the computer screen duing the order process. However, I have no E85 batches on my car neither was I able to find any E85 indication on my engine.

So how can one know that your engine is E85 capable (I have the v6 - produced 10/28)?
