3 days in a ’16 Limited: impressions…

I live outside the country, but was home and rented a new (1100 mi) ’16 GC Limited for a trip to Yosemite. In short, loved it.
Only option: Luxury Group II, I believe.

Exterior: love the front and the overall RWD proportions; the rear is bit blah.
Interior: great fit and finish, comfortable and quiet; liked the stitching/perforated leather.
No owner’s manual, but most electronics intuitive. Center display easy to figure out, enjoyed the various gauge cluster screens.
Was unsure how to turn on/off auto wipers and auto high beam.

Drivetrain: V6 has adequate power, no real complaint, though it sounded a bit strained when floored for passing on a two-lane.
New shifter simple and perfect, paddle shifters great, transmission smooth, quick shifts. Love the ZF 8sp.

Handling: the GC is solid and quiet (new acoustic windshield on Limited). I was impressed with how well it handled broken pavement, just quiet, distant ruffles, no body shake or quiver. GC is no sports car, but corners flatly and accurately. Electric pwr steering (new?), so unfortunately almost no road feedback.
Found start/stop a bit annoying even though fairly unobtrusive, disliked having to deactivate it for each drive.

Items to improve (IMO): wish the seats had more side bolstering (wish SRT seats were optional as part of an SRT parts package on Limited).
5.7 needs about 35 more hp.
Some plastic interior parts felt or looked cheap: glove box door, inner console tray and steering wheel hub; wish for upgrades.

Overall very positive experience: plan to order a new GC when I move back to US.
(but disappointed Off-road Adventure I package deleted for ’16)

(btw, reserved rental through Kayak, half the quoted rate from Enterprise directly).

Thanks for listening!

You could, it's just glass and they haven't changed shape or size, but honestly, unless you have a cracked windshield and need a replacement it wouldn't be worth it. Differences would be minimal as all WK2s are extremely quiet. So unless you needed a new windshield it's definitely not worth it. If you do, then sure why not.

Yes, my rental was the 6. I threw that comment in based on all the latest C&D 0-60 times for mid-size SUVs with V6s, which are now faster than even the V8 GC.

Most of those are also lighter in weight, or turbo/super charged.
