Its funny that I know what I'm talking about and have sources to back up what I say? It would be more acceptable if I just posted a bunch of stuff I really don't know anything about? I don't have an "always right" mentality, I just don't post information when I don't know that its accurate. If I don't know I'm right...I don't post. This is a discussion forum, and when someone posts something its up for discussion. If they say something that I know is wrong...I'm going to tell them they're wrong and show them why.

The statement that a Jeep is more "American" than a Toyota minivan is false. The Jeep is made by a foreign company (Fiat), same as the Toyota and has a LOWER % of domestically produced and sourced components. Those are facts. Look it up for yourself, I did to be sure I was right before I posted it. Its not hard, just Google. Your persistence that somehow I have "lots of free time" and am a "know it all" because I take the time to research something before I make a statement is ridiculous. If you would do the same thing, you'd sound a lot smarter. If you want to challenge what I have to say, you better know your shit because I know mine.

Re: 3 kids

I have a 2011 Grand Caravan R/T (yes the "Man Van") and LOVE it! It is sooo easy to get three kids in and out of and not bad looking for a minivan as well. We have a 1, 3 and 6 year old.

I looked at the Ford Explorer and the Durango. Came down to the minivan was just soooo much easier due to push button opening of the side doors and rear hatch. Also, the stow and go system is fantastic! Fitting ply wood sheets in the back with the hatch shut is no problem. Also, the Explorer was way under powered. BUT, with the new 2012 Explorer Sport coming out with the Eccoboost V6, you might want to wait a bit and check it out. Just my $0.02.

Once again don't tell me I made a vanity decision on my vehicle. I shopped vehicles over a yr before I actually purchased. Far from an uninformed decision..

I didn't even read your last book you wrote.. Thanks though for writing it...

We drove a rental from AZ to MT roundtrip with 3 tall boys + me and the wife. That thing is rooooomy and so easy to load/unload stuff. Anyways, the OP's needs are a little different because of the environmental factor but again, if they can make it work then a JGC it is! When one gets older, tow an igloo! <jk>

Re: 3 kids

To the minivan lovers...my 3 fitting just fine in the wk2.. No vanity purchase here.. Actually joined a carseats forum to make sure I would be able to fit 3 across it before purchasing.. And as you can see the front passenger seat is slightly forward compared to my drivers side adjusted to for my 6' height... Is it as convenient as a minivan?? Probably not.. Do I care? Not one bit.. Do I say to myself "man a van would be nice right about now"? only a couple of times when dealing with the doors that open too wide for parking spots...does it work as a 3 kid hauler? Why yes, yes it does and it does it well...any way SW______ (dont know all the numbers in ur username) it was nice chatting with ya.. I don't have a problem with you and have learn stuff from you posts I other threads.. I just don't feel u have a place in telling me my decision on a jeep was crazy.. I'm sure some day I will need more seats.. When that time comes I will get something with a third row(NOT a minivan tho lol, mainly cause my wifey hates them)

Looks great! This is how my kids look in the back of our Mountaineer and the F150 and they love sitting next to each other. When I put 1 of them in the 3rd row of the Mountaineer, he complained that he wanted to sit next to his sisters.

Ya.. They love the jeep. They complain if i Tell them we are taking the truck somewhere... Did you have to climb back there to strap in the third row? That's what I didn't want to be doing all the time.. Would rather reach in and strap.. Plus in a rear end collision I feel my kids are safer with the cargo area between them and impact.. If in a third row whether it be a van or suv they would be that much closer to it.... And my daughter does a great job helping with a fussy baby sitting right next to him.. How would she do that from the very back of a minivan SW??

Swings, pack n plays, wagons, strollers.....
Ya, we definitely over packed a few things. But, it got me thinking of my frequent trips to Pismo Beach packed with my buddies and brothers. There's no way I could fit 5 grown people in the Jeep plus camping supplies for a weekend. I could rent a trailer I guess.

Its easily worst in class by that regard, I just looked up for comparison's sake a 4Runner and it has 13 cu/ft more cargo room in the back.
100% agree. My wife has an 05 4Runner and it definitely has more cargo space.
