Back on topic, the 4Runner of today reminds me of some Jeep models from the past, all bloated fender to make a soft style more agressive.

I still can't imagine paying top dollar for the 4Runner given that the Jeep gives you so much at the same price point.
I have to agree on the looks of the GC. If you woke up half bleary eyed and could not see the logos, you could easily mistake it for a BMW X5 or any one of the other variants of the "got punched in the side" design school.

If you think the 4Runner looks like a little girl wearing daddy's work clothes, take a look at the Tundra. Me, I blame it on the GM Hummer which was pretty much just a butched up Tahoe.

Speaking of minivans, the mirrors on my '13 look eerily similar to a Grand Caravans. Could it be possible?

Be nice. The H1 was a very good off road vehicle, but, being based on the military vehicle, not a great road car and got atrocious mileage on its diesel. The H2 was the dressed up Tahoe and the H3 was a complete joke.

Re: 4Runner Comparison

My 1993 4Runner 3.Slow is one of the few vehicles that I miss. I bought it in 2006 from my SIL with 75k on it. I put another 60k on it in 6 years, then sold it to my wife's niece. Great truck.

Vintage is on a distinguished road
Re: 4Runner Comparison

I own both, a 2015 4runner TRD Pro and a 2015 Jeep GC Summit. I think their both great sport utilities. The jeep has a lot more options but I think it's because I bought the Summit package. The 4runner TRD pro is geared for off road straight out of the factory but again it is the TRD Pro package. If I were to do a equal comparison It would have to be a Summit vs Limited. I do enjoy driving both. Long trips and comfort ride I'll take the Jeep. Off road I'll take the 4Runner, but that's because TRD Pro is already set up for off road from the factory. IMO both are equally good.
