Question 5.7 Supercharger 0-60

I really want the SRT, however I don't have the funds for that right now , so I was thinking of a getting a 5.7 and getting a RIPP supercharger. When it come to 0-60 how close would that get me to the speed and power of the SRT?

I am new to the WK2 platform but from what I have seen especially in Challenger's/ Charger's is a 5.7 with a supercharger is comparable in power with the 6.4 with the 5.7 having the advantage. Now as far as drivetrain and suspension you would not be up to par with the SRT nor the braking system. So the SRT will still outperform the 5.7 but in a straight line it would be a great race. It better be a 4x4 though!

The overland & summit get the same(230mm) axles as the srt.

The charger r/t w/5.7 axles are smaller than 230.

Thanks all, so I need to get a overland Jeep, and later when I get money I can put a RIPP in it and I would be setting pretty.

Re: 5.7 Supercharger 0-60

The SRT might still have the advantage in a straight line- I believe its something called launch control I have been looking at this option of supercharging myself but to be honest, my current trim is not the right platform. A good tune, CAI is about all I will do to get to the 400 ponies.

SRT also has different (stiffer) gear ratios for faster acceleration.

Re: 5.7 Supercharger 0-60

I'm thinking you'll still be a good 1/2-1 sec off SRTs numbers. Launch control, 3.70 gears, suspension, all make big difference. Save up for the SRT, or buy a slightly used one with warranty. Once you add major power adders, your powertrain warranty is out the window. If you wait until an Overland is paid for and out of warranty, that's a different story.

Not sure if yr matters but 14/15 SRT has same trans as 5.7. IMHO, drive train is not the limiting factor, its the motor internals that should b considered especially if you are starting with a used motor. Worn rings and loose/sloppy internals are a risky thing to start with.

One huge advantage a Summit or Overland with a super charger has over the SRT is actual Off Road ability, thanks in part to the Quadra-Lift air suspension system.

So in theory, you'd have the best of both worlds.

Re: 5.7 Supercharger 0-60

Thanks for all the input.

So this is what I have taken from this.
If I get a 2011 and up Summit or Overland. I can mod it with a supercharger. And it can work just as well in a SRT in many places but still lacking in others.
However if I do go that root I can still use it go off roading just in case that I need it?
