64 dBA

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4x4 was recorded by Car and Driver Magazine as having the quietest interior sound level of 2011 (albeit tied with a Subaru) while driving @ 70mph

I can tell you that my WK @ 70mph is loud, it rattles and my mirrors whistle. Here's to product advancement

Close your windows. Mine is extremely quiet at interstate speeds.

Re: 64 dBA

no he has an 07 wk that whistles and rattles... he's saying that the wk2 is quieter than the wk is.

That is quite an achievement for a 4x4.

Re: 64 dBA

I came from a Patriot, which did NOT have particularly good sound isolation nor did it have good aerodynamics. With the tires I had on there (Goodyear Tripletred- great for traction but lousy for noise), the thing was rather loud when on the interstate.

By comparison, the Grand Cherokee is silent as a tomb.

Re: 64 dBA

Silent as a tomb.. that comment makes a library sound like a rock concert. And that is a fine achievement for a SUV.

I have the first gen WK, not the WKii

Re: 64 dBA

they really should take the measurements in sones instead of decibels since its a better measure of what the human ear can hear...however I don't think it would matter since the WK2 is at least as quiet as my E550, if not more so.

Re: 64 dBA

The jeep is very quiet every car I ride in now doesn't even come close.

The nissan leaf is 21db but I am sure at idle. Thought this video was cool though:
