Re: 700 miles and at JGC wont start

Just an update with my issue. So I picked the 2014 JGC Limited from the dealership. The reason they gave me was that the brake switch was not reading, the connector was loose and needed to be repaired and pushed back in, and that is why the car would not start. Sooo...today 5 days later, I went to the grocery store and car didn't start again. So I got it towed back to the dealership again. I called Chrysler and they said that the only thing they saw done on my car was a oil change...I said What!!! an oil change at 700 miles instead of the brake switch issue the told me about. I kept the invoice with them stating that the brake swtich is bad so the dealership cant lie themselves out of this one. The lemon laws here state that the car has to go to the shop 3 times in 18 months, its been twice in a week. Jeez, I just want a refund

It's all Consumer Reports' fault. JGC's minus 90% reliability is just an urban myth.

It's a dam shame and scary. When I order mine I'll have to drive more than 1,500 miles to get it home. It's not the engines just the electronics.

jdshaw: The plural of anecdote is not 'data'

Grandpuba: That sucks, I'm sorry to hear it. There was a TSB/Recall for GCs built before sometime in August. You should check and see if it applies, as it sound like it might. I hope this gets fixed for you, or you are able to trade out into a car without any issues.

Acilate: It's interesting how a lot of anecdotes turn into data. The 12/13 issue of Consumer Reports regarding the anecdote rich JGC is a good example of that phenomenon.

Except it doesn't. Real data comes from an accurate data set that represents all related cases. A magazine which doesn't disclose their methods, data sets, and criteria is an opinion, not data.

Get over yourself. You are useless to this forum and community. You've provided zero value and zero input, the exact opposite of why this and other communities exist.
