Re: 707-hp GC coming (in case 475 hp isn't enough)

I'd buy a Hellcat at the rumored MSRP, no problem. But I won't pay more than that (well, except the stupid dealer fee maybe). Too bad Koons with 7% under invoice probably won't apply to the Hellcat cuz I'd order one TODAY!!!

At $100K though I'd be looking at the Tesla too probably.......

By the way, what ever happened to the group buy stuff, did it get the kabosh by moderators for some reason? Seems like it drew a lot of traffic to the site though.

And the waiting lobby is very comfortable to sit...I actually worked the whole time I was there so I didn't get behind on things.
Dunno, Jim. Between my firsthand experiences going back decades, including having to turn more than once to Fred to straighten things out, along with the dismaying experiences of friends -- as well as a neighbor with horror stories who has worked for decades in the service dept of that dealership's Ford section -- I've been making the 75 minute schlep to Videon Jeep, which has a superb service department.

That said, your recent experience with our nearby dealer's Jeep section is interesting (mea culpa: I've had great luck with their parts dept). Please keep us advised. I'd love to avoid driving 2 1/2 hours round trip from/to W'town for service.

The only "fail" that the Beans service department has had was forgetting to reinstall one lug nut after rotating my tires two weeks ago...they cheerfully fixed that for me on Monday afternoon (I noticed it on Sunday) and gave me my next two (synthetic) oil changes for free as compensation...and I didn't ask for any compensation. Maybe I've been lucky, but they've done a pretty good job to-date.

Wow...that's a haul down to Videon!

Maybe you haven't noticed the trend among vehicle manufacturers.

- Toyota has dropped the V8 from the 4Runner line.
- Mercedes Benz has dropped the V8 from the ML line, with the exception of the AMG.
- Nissan has dropped the V8 from the Pathfinder line.

And these are only the SUVs that quickly come to mind. I'm positive that similar downgrades have happened among cars & possibly even pickups.

Big thanks, Jim. I'm off to Videon again tomorrow, but given your results I may give Beans another try next time. BTW, ditto concerning their sales department -- unfortunate tactics out of another era and uninspiring prices.

Don't forget the Ford Raptor and new Ford GT both getting the Ecoboost 3.5L V6 instead of a V8.

Honestly, I'll take a twin-turbo V6 over a naturally aspirated V8. The tuning possibilities are wayyyyyy greater. Look at the E90 M3 vs the new F80. The old one had a high revving V8 with no torque that you had to put a $10k supercharger on it to get decent power. The new M3 has a TT I6 that makes more torque than people know what to do with and a tune/intake/downpipe will net you an additional 100whp for a few grand.

And I'm assuming using the pathfinder as an example was a typo, maybe you meant Titan? The pathfinder is a glorified minivan now.
