With CarPlay, yes you'll be able to request ur phones NAV opposed to the uconnect nav.

Just saying doubt CarPlay will give you much more access and ain't a selling point me.

With CarPlay the UConnect is just an extension of the iPhone with all the processing occurring on phone itself(and I'm assuming the same for android auto) in theory apple will slowly improve on the CarPlay interface just as they have improved on iOS's interface. With a car that I'm planning on having for 10 years to miss out on potential expandability including eventual support for applications like Waze and other 3rd party apps would be a shame if I didn't wait the 9 months till they are released. But then again I'm a technology type of guy

Yeah and getting an aftermarket bumper is literally impossible with that front end.

No thanks. My next jeep will be getting one...no question. My 07 has eaten its fair share of deer.

Assuming the Cherokee comment is a joke since they look like little teenage girl cars.
Seriously though the gc small lights and soft grilles look bad

And to further clarify, the "new" model is not a "package" or option based on the Laredo, Limited, Overland, Summit or SRT, but rather it's own model, and it may be run for a limited timeframe only. Stay tuned to your favorite channel(s) for further information.

Soooo...is that "new" model something a current Summit-owner () might be attracted to or would said owner lose too many features by making a switch?

I'm asking because my next GC will be a MY17 and while I certainly love my Summit, I'm not (yet - let's see what new features are coming) a 100% sold on buying virtually the same vehicle again.

It's a TrailHawk...kinda the opposite of a Summit, at least for purpose. LOL No details yet, but he did mention in the MY17 thread that it may make an appearance at the NY Auto Show and another venue around Easter.

Ah, thanks - so the TrailHawk will be the "new" model.

I saw that earlier in the MY17-thread but I wasn't sure if that would be the "new" one.

Guess it will be Summit then (again). I'm still hoping that we will be getting the other still 'missing' features that were already published a while ago - like Electronic Parking Brake, Lane Departure Warning and Park Assist.

If these features are skipped again for MY17, they can basically leave them out for the WK2 altogether...

Re: 75th G.C. Face or wait and see 2017 ?

Thanks JGC4EVER; had not thought of cars.com, silly me ! I am still Hoping to "see, in the wilds of dealer-lot-dom the LAREDO F beast ! And still not a 1 in my neighborhood (NW) and very few Regular '16's ! You'll think we were on another planet .
Crazy me, but I am having 2nd thoughts about spending =/> $40K (with the 1 or 2 less $$ options) for the Laredo F . . . sure would be nice to have a crystal ball on the 2017 Laredo ! So So want them to Retain the new Front with the new Lights . The Normal New stuff we know will be there from 2016 refresh.
Have NO interest in many of the Techie things, nor the Heated this & that or much of the Expensive Frivolous Eye Candy . However with my touchy-back situation, the electric adjustable lumbar Drivers seat I want ! Just RIDICULOUS that anybody has to Pay (basically) $$$2000.00 for this . . . ok, and the stupid chrome plastic roof rack ! SHAME ON YOU MARCHIONNE, YOU GREEDY BASTARD !

Re: 75th G.C. Face or wait and see 2017 ?

The $2,000 E option has an Invoice of a $1,000 so you should be sure to negotiate a below invoice deal so that option ends up being less than $1,000.
