Also, the HEMI price went up $200 on the 2012s and the base price increased from $42,295 to $42,995.

That's $200 more for the HEMI, $700 more for base price increase, $995 more for the ORAG II to get QD II and ELSD on a non-Summit and you're already at $1895 plus the existing $1000 brings you to $2895 before taxes and interest on a loan if you are financing is factored in. The 2011s are definitely a better value. Even if you negotiate the same percentage off of MSRP on a 2012 equipped that way relative to a 2011, you'll still pay about $3K more. If you live in an area where the incentives on the Overlands went up, that number just increases.
That's all good on a Hemi model, but not so much on an Overland with a V6, which is what I'm looking at.

It's only $435 difference on an Overland with 730 Navigation and Hemi for me (+$1000 cash or 1.9% financing for a 2011). 2011: $45,580. 2012: $46015. And that's just MSRP. Invoice is even closer. I don't need QDII and ELSD. I'll be getting a 2012 as soon as the dealers get them here on the lots.

True that's why I said depending on how you equip it. If you're looking for a V6, then you don't care about QD II, ELSD or the HEMI.

True and yeah it's dependent on how you equip it. In my case, I want QD II, ELSD and the HEMI and there's no way I'm paying $3K more for the same vehicle and they even took away the roll-down window features for the front windows from the key fob. If you're getting the V8 and don't care about the QD II and ELSD, then you're at $200 more for the HEMI, $700 more for the base price difference and then minus the $465 for the RHR so a difference of $435 PLUS the incentive of at least $1000. So you're still paying $1435 more PLUS tax on that PLUS finance charges. And don't forget, most dealers (not all) will not sell the 2012s at invoice minus any holdback because they're "NEW" and they'll be trying to move 2011 inventory to clear the lot for their 2012 orders. I'm just saying the 2011s are a better value but you'll love your 2012 either way and if you can't find a 2011 that meets your needs, you have to order or pick-up a 2012.

I was more than surprised that the incentives didn't get better on 2011's, but...... I am picking up my 2011 Overland Hemi on Saturday - worked out $2K less than a 2012 even after factoring in shipping from out of state. More importantly, I got the color I wanted - Natural Pearl Green which of course is gone in 2012. If color wasn't the issue, I think I would have got a 2012.

One of the 2011 Overland Hemis Brilliant Black/Black interior that I was watching was removed just yesterday from the dealers website. The other one I'm watching was repaired twice during shipment by Fenkel per the Insight tracking info.

I still can't decide if I want black or beige interior. Main reason I'm waiting for a 2012 is I want one that doesn't sit on the lot at all, has more resale value than a 2011, and is as far away from the Hemi shudder problems of 2011 (new torque converter as well for 2012 I think), and has the true 6 speed in automatic mode.

This snippet intrigues me; can you explain a bit more about this system and how/where you're able to track a certain vehicle? Thanks in advance!

Mike

You should def buy what will make you most happy. I thought about going for the 12' for some of the reasons you mentioned...however, for me, i went for an 11 for price and value with my only stipulation being the vehicle had to be a recent build (mine was 5/11). So far, extremely happy. As far as your interior choice...its a tough one for sure.

Re: 9/7 incentives?

2 things, one a statement and one a question:

1. Showing they are offering 0% for 60 months now, may be regional so check your area. FYI since I did not see it in here.

2. Dealer I have my WK2 SRT8 ordered with has a June 26, 2011 built Overland in Stone White. Has ACC package and 5.7L. Does not have the 730 nav as a $465 option. Is the 730 on it already as a standard option or does it still have the 430? I thought I read a while back the 730 was eventually made the standard nav but maybe I was wrong.

Re: 9/7 incentives?

2012 Overland has 730N RHR Nav standard.

If it's a 2012, then as stated, RHR is standard. If it's a 2011 and it doesn't show the RHR $465 option, then it has the 430N with Garmin Nav.
